LAW & ORDER Adds Claire Coffee

GRIMM vet Claire Coffee is joining the LAW & ORDER world.

According to TVLine, who was first to report the casting, Coffee will play a lawyer in the upcoming 22nd season of the NBC drama. Additional character details are being kept quiet, for now.

Last season, L&O showrunner Rick Eid expressed a desire to build up a rotating roster of opposing lawyers to go up against the series’ ADAs.

“I think it’s always great to have people return, and build up your stable of [possibly] eight to 10 defense lawyers that can do two or three episodes in the season,” he said at the time. “And we’re always trying to find new new actors to play defense lawyers. New York has so much talent, we love to find new people—or not-so-new people that just haven’t done the show—and create a character.”

Coffee’s previous TV experience includes LINCOLN RHYME: HUNT FOR THE BONE COLLECTOR, as well as arcs on SWAT, THE WEST WING, and FRANKLIN & BASH.

The LAW & ORDER season 22 cast includes Sam Waterston, Hugh Dancy, Jeffrey Donovan, Mehcad Brooks, Odelya Halevi, and Camryn Manheim.
