The LAW & ORDER world may officially be colliding this fall, as NBC is eyeing a LAW & ORDER, LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT, and LAW & ORDER: ORGANIZED CRIME crossover event. If it can come together—and it is not set in stone, yet—it will mark the first crossover for the three shows.

Since ORGANIZED CRIME’s debut in 2021, the series had a number of crossovers with SVU, in both major and more minor ways. Though L&O and SVU crossed over a number of times during the mothership’s original run, the only real overlap since LAW & ORDER returned this year was SVU’s Mariska Hargitay and Terry Serpico guest starring in the season 21 finale.

“The crossovers help connect all the franchises together, like a nice little train,” ORGANIZED CRIME star Christopher Meloni (Stabler) noted in a recent NBC video.

The franchise crossing over for a big event is no surprise, as NBC bosses began talking about the possibility before LAW & ORDER’s revival debuted in February. “[LAW & ORDER Thursdays are] creating countless opportunities for fan favorite crossovers, and that’s across all three series,” Susan Rovner, Chairman, Entertainment Content, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, told reporters during a conference call in late 2021. “Not to mention the potential to bring in some CHICAGO visitors from our Wednesday night lineup.”

This fall will also bring changes for all three shows: Anthony Anderson exited the mothership, while Mehcad Brooks was added to the cast; additionally, SVU and ORGANIZED CRIME got new showrunners in David Graziano and Bryan Goluboff, respectively.

NBC had no comment about the possible crossover.
