BIG BROTHER, CELEBRITY FAMILY FEUD, and THE CHALLENGE USA

“Blurred Battle Lines” – The Challengers battle it out in a difficult water challenge, and a new alliance is formed to target a CHALLENGE veteran. Meanwhile, romance blossoms between two teammates, on part two of the two-part season premiere of THE CHALLENGE: USA, Sunday, Aug. 13 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*. Let’s talk about Sunday night’s TV!

BIG BROTHER: Oh Jared, you REALLY needed to not be so confident and at least find one other clue.

But the house has gotten so messy so fast, and I’m curious how long Hisam will be able to last given how hard he’s playing. Confronting Reilly in week 1 is a risky move, as is making it clear he’s now trying to take her out. He’s also being too honest…like, I get not wanting to lie (I respect that), but it feels like he’s truth-dumping even when it might benefit him to just not say anything at all. Or play it a little more chill. Because he might hold the cards right now, but he’ll be vulnerable next week.

Also, Jared getting to save one person was an interesting twist…and Reilly freaking out will not help her game going forward, in theory. She didn’t even try to casually point out Jared might owe her…she freaked out about it. But he did what he had to do: If he had saved Reilly, he absolutely would have been on the block in her place.

CELEBRITY FAMILY FEUD: Jared and Genevieve Padalecki were fun, and really good at the game. And they had a well-rounded team.  (I would not have thought about Lincoln on Mount Rushmore.)

The REAL HOUSEWIVES…were very bad. That may have been one of the worst final rounds I’ve ever seen? Yikes.

THE CHALLENGE USA: My God, so much personal drama. And honestly making me root against the people who are being so extra. (Like, Amanda, come on. What are we doing here?) It feels way more trashy reality show than competition, and I really hope it changes soon.

But the contestants are also smart to try and take out the vets from the franchise. They know how it works, they’ve proven themselves, they are a danger.

That being said, holy [your choice of curse here] to that Jonna and Tori battle.
