Let’s talk about Tuesday night’s TV!

BEAT SHAZAM: I was spoiled on the million-dollar win before I watched the episode—the perils of living on the West Coast—but it was a great game. It felt like the 2-on-1 round was way harder than the final song…but it was so cute that the audience absolutely knew the final question was right and they were going to win the big prize before it was even officially announced.  A good end to the season.

AMERICA’S GOT TALENT: Well, this is by far the toughest week of the show this season. I don’t know how you pick two acts. You can make the argument the puppet singers were fine, not great, but..I feel like there are going to be at least 3 or 4 acts I’ll be unhappy about not moving on.

DON’T FORGET THE LYRICS: DFTL is in a slightly different position than some other game shows, because it’s not one contestant per hour; they have to fit the gameplay into an entire season, so some episodes have one contestant, others will have multiple when they get the answer wrong and are out of the game. This wasn’t the best finale—one contestant getting out fast and the other stalling at $25k—but it was fine.
