About Last Night…BEAT SHAZAM, AMERICA’S GOT TALENT, and DON’T FORGET THE LYRICS

Let’s talk about Tuesday night’s TV!

BEAT SHAZAM: Okay, this was the first time I could have gotten all of the team versus Shazam songs all correct. (Maybe ever? Once in a while there’s a song I know, ish, but don’t know the name. And there have been some one-offs I didn’t know, in general.) I did not, however, know the Andy Gibb song for the final round. (I thought it was a Bee Gees deep cut.) Good for them for risking it and taking home over $200k!

AMERICA’S GOT TALENT: The Magic Mike act was one of the most impressive magicians I’ve ever seen on the show. HOW?!

I can’t believe that The Rybka Twins split the judges. They were fantastic?!

With all apologies to Atai Show…nope. No. No thanks. Absolutely not. I cannot handle those bone-cracking groups.

But, clearly, the audition of the night was “For Good.” I don’t think 2 Moms United By One Heart will win, but their story was absolutely gutwrenching and I cried. I truly hope their time on the show helps bring much-needed attention to organ donation.

DON’T FORGET THE LYRICS: Well, my mind blanked on those Jolene lyrics, too. I definitely wouldn’t have been able to get that, but I’m very curious what the missing lyrics would have been for “Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy”…I know both songs, too, and wonder if I would have been equally stumped.

Also, I felt bad for the second contestant…winning nothing always sucks. But it also felt like a poor strategy to find the fourth word, because if you thought it ended with “girls,” maybe you should have verified what KIND of girls? Alas.
