Let’s talk about Wednesday night’s TV!

QUANTUM LEAP: Loved Ben in the bank—and hello Janet Montgomery…it’s been a really solid start with the leaps themselves. And, my goodness, my heart breaks for Addison. It’s been three years, not three days. And Tom does seem decent. (I truly, truly, truly hope it stays that way, too. It’s a billion percent more compelling if he is a good guy, but just not—inevitably—the guy for Addison.)

It’s also interesting, as an audience member, to have so many questions about our beloved characters, too. Ben isn’t the only one who missed three years. What have they been doing?!

[For more on the episode, here’s what EPs Martin Gero and Dean Georgaris shared.]

CELEBRITY JEOPARDY: Chris Meloni having an Albanian question—and, uh, not getting it right—made me laugh out loud. But, man, TV Towns killed me a little—they didn’t get BUFFY or DAWSON’S CREEK?!

Okay, I’m not a regular JEOPARDY watcher, but I’ve never seen a tie post-Final Jeopardy. Katie Nolan not betting the right amount of money and forcing a tie-breaker was hilarious, but also…that should have counted against her! A good game, though.

THE MASKED SINGER: Michael Rapaport was so obvious, but also very funny in his exit. HOW DID THEY NOT GUESS HIM? His voice is so distinct.

MAGNUM P.I.: Today’s lesson: Never take on a stingray. If Magnum and Higgins had that much trouble, I can’t imagine (most of) the rest of us attempting the same task.

The (real) case of the week was well done, though. I managed to feel terrible for Kumu’s friend and the scammer. (Of course, it helps the scamming wasn’t done maliciously/by choice.)

Really loved the storyline with TC and his mom—it’s lovely how much they’ve been able to bring to that (very complicated) relationship in the couple of episodes the show has devoted to it this season. (Also: TC, let people love you, please and thank you.)

I’ll admit I was really shocked by Rick and Suzy’s reunion. Not that it happened, of course, but I figured it would be later in the season. Eric Guggenheim told me in hindsight he “probably” would have kept Piper around for another episode, which I think would have worked, too. But, hey, happy for Rick and Suzy. And I’m also really glad Rick was so clear he had heard Suzy’s boundaries but he wanted to check in one last time before he moved on.

THE $100,000 PYRAMID: Okay, wow, Ana Gasteyer is a $100K queen. And Dan Bucatinsky was so good, too. (Sorry to those on the second game, which…well, uh, yeah. It was a weird pairing with the stellar first game.)
