Let’s talk about Wednesday night’s TV!

QUANTUM LEAP: Oh, cool, the show was like, “You thought that episode 3 Ben and Addison fight was painful? WATCH THIS.” Ouch, ouch, ouch.

Part of me would have loved to see a flashback to the three years we missed of time, but Addison explaining her grief was agonizing enough. (Also, thank God she wasn’t successful in throwing herself into a leap, because who knows how absolutely terrible that might have gone.)

But the case itself was very fun and Tim Matheson was a great guest star. Loved all the nerdy industry things, it made me fiercely miss the Universal lot, and while there were obvious parallels with Ben/Addison, it wasn’t overwhelming the entire time.

CELEBRITY JEOPARDY: Look, they mostly did well, but I need to be clear that people not knowing the name of Madonna’s (incredible) greatest hits album is a crime.

THE MASKED SINGER: I had absolutely no clue it was Tyler Posey, and it actually stumped the judges, too. (Okay, that’s not always hard, but it’s been harder to do this year.)

CELEBRITY WHEEL OF FORTUNE: Gabriel Iglesias’ outfit was absolutely insane, in the best way. Glad he won a game. Ditto Danielle Pinnock, who was absolutely fabulous. (Also, everyone struggling over “back-to-back victories” was funny.)

MAGNUM P.I.: Magnum passing his PI test and Higgins failing (her first try) is something these two are going to squabble about for decades. (Her chagrin over failing was, unfortunately, very relatable.)

Higgins’ and TC’s talk at the end?! My whole damn heart. TC was pretty isolated from Magnum and Higgins for the early part of this block of episodes as he recovered, so it was nice to get this moment where they talked about relationships and regrets. It was a beautifully understated scene.

(And hey Ibrahim Renno!)

THE $100,000 PYRAMID: Wow, Jason Ritter was absolutely great at the game, and it was even more meaningful given his dad’s history with the show. (Clogs was hard, though, and my first thought was the shoes, too. The next game with things on my lap was also a hard thing to try and describe.)
