CHICAGO MED Promotes Luke Mitchell

Luke Mitchell is sticking around on CHICAGO MED: The actor was officially made a series regular on the medical drama, Give Me My Remote has confirmed.

Mitchell debuted as Dr. Mitch Ripley in the season 9 premiere, initially in a recurring capacity.

“What we’ll learn is that he has a very fraught relationship with Dr. Charles that goes back to when [Ripley] was an adolescent,” CHICAGO MED co-showrunner Andrew Schneider told Give Me My Remote at the time. “And this will cause conflict with Charles. It will also cause Charles to do some soul-searching about this past treatment of patients.”

“We will see how Ripley’s past kind of comes into the ED with him,” added co-showrunner Diane Frolov.

At the time, Schneider also teased, “he’s also a handsome romantic figure which could lead to something in our universe.” Since then, Ripley has become entangled with Dr. Hannah Archer (Jessy Schram).

CHICAGO MED was recently renewed for a tenth season.
