ELSBETH Exclusive Clip: Laura Benanti’s Nadine Teaches Elsbeth How to Work a Catwalk

ELSBETH ends its first season on Thursday, May 23, at a special time (9/8c), as Elsbeth (Carrie Preston) and the team get caught up in the world of high fashion: A photographer is murdered in the middle of a fashion show.

A model, Nadine Clay (Laura Benanti), is one of the people Elsbeth quickly suspects and she takes some time to get to know the woman.

In an exclusive clip from the hour, “A Fitting Finale,” Nadine teaches Elsbeth how to walk on a catwalk. “Now let your feet fall heavier, like a clomping donkey,” Nadine suggests in the video below, much to Elsbeth’s delight.

Though Nadine concedes Elsbeth is getting better, she puts on her own demonstration of how a proper catwalk should go.

“Wow, you’re so good,” Elsbeth marvels.

“I’ve been doing it since I was 14,” Nadine replies. “In Paris, London, Milan.”

Elsbeth questions if that’s why the model speaks the way she does, to Nadine’s confusion. Elsbeth quickly pivots, noting, “I had no idea modeling was such hard work. No wonder you’re retiring.”

“Transitioning,” Nadine quickly clarifies.

“Of course, it’s scary, starting something new,” Elsbeth continues. “Wondering if it’ll all work out. Afraid some past mistake could jeopardize everything—” as Nadine stumbles in surprise.
