Hulu has revealed CASTLE ROCK’s season 2 theme and a gaggle of new cast members.
The second anthology installment will be a MISERY prequel, and follows a young Annie Wilkes (who was played by Kathy Bates in the 1990 film). Per Hulu, “A feud between warring clans comes to a boil when budding psychopath Annie Wilkes, Stephen King’s nurse from hell, gets waylaid in Castle Rock.”

Alexi Hawley has been steadily working for the past decade, but he acknowledges his time on CASTLE was special.
“The people, definitely [stand out],” he says. “It really was a family. That’s the biggest part: the cast and the crew and the writers I worked with. A lot of them are still friends of mine.”
CASTLE: Nathan Fillion Reflects on the Series

On March 9, 2009, a ruggedly handsome mystery author and a badass NYPD detective quasi-reluctantly teamed up to solve crime. Over eight seasons of CASTLE, Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) bickered, bantered, fell in love, got married, and started their own family—albeit with some major twists and turns along the way. (Though the series’ 2016 finale wasn’t planned, the showrunners shot an alternate ending which they placed at the end of the episode instead of a cliffhanger.)
For Fillion, who got his first real big break on ABC’s ONE LIFE TO LIVE, the series continued his long-relationship with the network. (He had also been on DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES and TWO GUYS AND A GIRL prior to CASTLE; post-CASTLE, he’s appeared on MODERN FAMILY, AMERICAN HOUSEWIFE, and reunited with CASTLE’s Alexi Hawley on THE ROOKIE.) But, as he acknowledges in the video below, the 173 episodes he did of the Andrew Marlowe-created series is his “greatest success, in a lot of ways.”

THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE will conclude with its upcoming fourth season, Prime Video announced. The last episodes will launch Fall 2019.
Per Prime Video, “The final season of THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE will be rocked by war and revolution. The Resistance becomes a full-blown rebellion, driven by Juliana Crain’s (Alexa Davalos) visions of a better world. A new Black insurgent movement emerges to fight the forces of Nazism and imperialism. As empires teeter, Chief Inspector Takeshi Kido (Joel De La Fuente) will find himself torn between his duty to his country and the bonds of family. Meanwhile, Reichsmarschall John Smith (Rufus Sewell) will be drawn towards the portal the Nazis have built to another universe, and the tantalizing possibility of stepping through a gateway to the path not taken.”

CASTLE ROCK Season 1 Finale: Dustin Thomason on That Mysterious Smile, Timelines, and Season 2

[This post contains spoilers for the first season of CASTLE ROCK.]
CASTLE ROCK’s first season ended with a number of questions…and a whole lot of possibilities for where the series could go next.
Details of the already-ordered second season are being kept under lock and key, but a potential tease was dropped in a mid-credits sequence: Jackie Torrance (Jane Levy), niece of “The Shining’s” driven-mad Jack, mentioned she was westward bound to the Overlook Hotel, the location of the 1977 novel.
But certainly if the writers don’t go down that road, there were enough lingering threads they could return to in the next installment of the anthology series. The penultimate episode of the season opened up the possibility of multiple universes (and timelines)…and the final shot of The Kid (Bill Skarsgård) smirking was just vague enough to go practically anywhere.
So how did the pieces of the puzzle fall into place? And what comes next? CASTLE ROCK co-showrunner Dustin Thomason shared a few teases about what went down and what’s to come…

The title of the King book itself is a spoiler, but is named in the post with an additional warning before the plot information starts. It may also contain spoilers for CASTLE ROCK season 2, but it’s speculation at this point.] Read more

“That’s where you died.”
What the heck did The Kid (Bill Skarsgård) mean when he ominously told Molly (Melanie Lynskey) about her time in the woods? With the first season of CASTLE ROCK is rapidly coming to a close—this week’s hour is the penultimate installment of the first season—we’re running out of time to find out.
And these photos from this week’s hour “Henry Deaver”…well, they’re kind of messed up. And messed up in a very different way than last week’s “Past Perfect.”
Check out photos from “Henry Deaver”…

With more than four decades of material to play with, Stephen King’s various novels and stories are continuously being adapted. (Since 2017, the list includes films THE DARK TOWER, IT, GERALD’S GAME, and 1922, while MR. MERCEDES just started its second season on television.) Hulu’s CASTLE ROCK is a bit of an abnormality, because while the series shares a character directly from King’s world (and it’s set in one of his most famous fictional locations), the story is an original one.

What happened to Ruth Deaver (Sissy Spacek)?
In the last episode of the newly-renewed CASTLE ROCK, the mysteriously bloody The Kid (Bill Skarsgård) seemingly caused mayhem in the Deaver home…and Alan Pangborn (Scott Glenn) couldn’t find his long-time love.
Of course, The Kid has his own reasons for wanting to destroy Alan’s life: the former sheriff saw the young man in the trunk of Shawshank Prison boss Dale Lacy’s (Terry O’Quinn) car, and let Dale lock him away for years. (Still unexplained is how The Kid managed to not age over all of the years he was held captive.)
In Wednesday’s episode, “The Queen,” Ruth spends some quality time with The Kid. Check out some photos from the hour…
