24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY: Is Kim Raver Returning?

Comments Off on 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY: Is Kim Raver Returning?

Another familiar face may be making a return when 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY debuts in 2014 — Kim Raver’s Audrey.

TVLine is reporting that Raver — whose Audrey was a love interest for Jack for several seasons, and was last seen very ill after being tortured in the show’s sixth season — is close to signing a deal to reprise the role she played from 2005-2007. A rep for Fox had no comment.

So far, the only confirmed participants in 24’s return are Kiefer Sutherland’s Jack Bauer and Mary Lynn Rajskub’s Chloe.

Raver recently appeared in the first season of REVOLUTION and had a multi-season run on GREY’S ANATOMY.

Would you like to see Raver’s Audrey return to the 24 world?

Comments Off on 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY: Mary Lynn Rajskub Officially Signs On

Mary Lynn Rajskub (Chloe) has officially signed on to join Kiefer Sutherland (Jack) in 24’s return to Fox in 2014.

“I am thrilled to be working with [24 executive producer] Howard [Gordon] and the writers again – and, of course, Kiefer!” said Rajskub in a statement. “There’s a lot more room to grow in my character…I’m going to start sharpening my computer skills now!”

Per Fox, 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY “will follow the further exploits of heroic agent Jack Bauer, taking up his story several years after the events of the final season. Once again, viewers will join Jack on a pulse-pounding ride in real time.”

Are you excited for Chloe to rejoin the 24 world?

Comments Off on 24 is Back: Fox Officially Announces Event Series, 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY

There’s life after cancellation for Jack Bauer: Fox announced (officially) today that 24 will be heading back to the network with a 12-hour event series as 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY.

“[The creative team realized that] 24 being compressed into two hours [for a movie] is not 24,” Kevin Reilly, Chairman, Fox Broadcasting Company said on a conference call earlier today.

However, when Fox announced their commitment to making limited-run series, the team had a lightbulb go off. “‘Why are we killing ourselves trying to crack a feature when this is the perfect form?'” Reilly said of their mindset.

Tonight’s TV Spotlight…Sunday, January 4, 2009

January 4, 2009 by
Filed under Tonight's TV Spotlight, TV News

You certainly can’t complain that there’s nothing to watch on TV tonight.  You’ve got to love a Sunday night with choices.  The scripted shows are starting to return and some of the winter newbies are hitting the scene.  Get the TiVos ready.

What will YOU be watching?

Saturday Night Live Sports Extra | 8pm on NBC
A compilation of sports-themed comedy skits from the late-night laugher’s three decades of shows. [GMMR: There’s been many great sports figures on SNL through the years. Most notable in my mind are Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. Here’s to hoping we’ll see Brady sexually harassing co-workers in his unmentionables. And if you don’t know what skit I’m talking about then you’re probably very confused right about now.]

Superstars of Dance | 9pm on NBC
Series premiere: Performers from Argentina, Australia. China, India, Ireland, Russia, South Africa and the United States showcase their native dance styles. Michael Flatley and Susan Castillo host. [GMMR: This show is from Nigel Lythgoe who created SYTYCD.  That alone means I have to give it a looksy.]

Desperate Housewives | 9pm on ABC
“Home is the Place”
A competition begins when Bree meets Andrew’s future mother-in-law; Susan spends time with Lee; Edie grows tired of Dave as he continues to behave strangely. [GMMR: Wait, does Susan have yet another man? Have these women been tested? ]

Brothers & Sisters | 10pm on ABC
” A Father Dreams”
A health crisis causes an emotional confrontation between Tommy and Kevin; Justin decides to leave the nest. [GMMR: I wonder if the health crisis is going to be an eroding liver from all the booze the Walker’s imbibe.]

The Unit | 10pm CBS
“Bad Beat”
Jonas plays a game of baccarat to win back the services of a CIA spy who went to the other side — and to get court-martial charges against Bridget Sullivan dismissed. [GMMR: I should tune into this show once in a while if only to get a Noel Crane fix.]

Also playing…

  • Millions Dollar Password | 8pm on CBS: Celebrities Craig Ferguson and Serena Williams try to help contestants win money.
  • 24: Redemption | 8pm on FOX: Jack Bauer tries to prevent an African warlord from recruiting children for his militia.
  • Cold Case | 9pm on CBS: Rush and the team reopen the case of an auto mechanic who was murdered after winning $8 million in the state lottery; Valens discovers there might be a problem with his relationship with Frankie.

GMMR’s Useless Tidbit of the Day…

“The penculine titmouse of Africa builds its home in such a sturdy manner that Masai tribesmen use its nests for purses and carry cases.”

Season Premiere of 24: Sunday, Jan. 15th @ 8PM AND Monday, Jan. 16th @ 8PM on Fox

Do you have your TiVo set for the return of Jack Bauer and his band of merrymen? Yes, Jack and co return tonight (and tomorrow) to kick off the 4th season of 24. The 4-hour, 2 night season premiere will sure to be the hot topic at the watercooler tomorrow.

I’ll be honest with you. I’ve never really watched 24. Now before you start yelling profanities at me, it’s not that I have anything against the show, it’s just that I haven’t had the time. 24 is a commitment, and I was so afraid to get into yet another show for which I would be devastated if I missed an ep. But that’s all changed now that I have the super-powerful TiVo. So this newbie will be spending some of her day catching up on past seasons of 24 in preparation for tonight’s show.

If you don’t have TiVo, and miss something, be sure to check the forums, as the always entertaining Fatback will be handling the 24 recaps this year. And we hope that you are registered with the Give Me My Remote forums so you chat about the ep with other 24 addicts right after the show..
