LEVERAGE becomes a family affair, as Hardison’s (Aldis Hodge) foster sister, Breanna Casey (Aleyse Shannon) joins the team in IMDb TV’s LEVERAGE: REDEMPTION. (The first season dropped a little early, and can be streamed, for free, here.)

“This is something that she’s grown up hearing about, and I don’t know if she’s necessarily been vulnerable until she [meets] the team,” Shannon says in the video below.

Though they are a little skeptical about her arrival and bringing her on, Breanna quickly proves her worth.

“Her struggle, unlike the original characters, she’s finding herself; she’s finding her place and how she can be useful,” Shannon admits. “There are some things that she finds out that she does that aren’t so useful. And she’s becoming a member of a family that’s already established in the same way I was doing as an actress [joining an established franchise].”

When LEVERAGE signed off in 2012, a trio of the characters—Parker (Beth Riesgraf), Eliot (Christian Kane), and Hardison (Aldis Hodge)—ending storyline positioned them to continue on with the missions, leading up the new Leverage: International.

With the stories continuing off-screen between the series’ end and when LEVERAGE: REDEMPTION (the new IMDb TV revival) kicks off, Kane and Riesgraf acknowledge that their trust in the creative team helped alleviate any big questions about where their characters had been in the time viewers didn’t get to see.

When LEVERAGE ended its TNT run in 2012, executive producer Dean Devlin was proud of what they accomplished, but acknowledged it didn’t feel quite like the story was done.

“I’ve got a whole bunch of stories I would like to have told,” Devlin said at the time. “Who knows, maybe another network will want it and give me a call.”

It took a few years, but LEVERAGE is finally back on Friday, July 9 with the new IMDb TV original series LEVERAGE: REDEMPTION. (The first eight episodes of new series can be viewed for free, with limited, ads here.)

In the new LEVERAGE revival, LEVERAGE: REDEMPTION, a new character enters the team’s orbit: Harry Wilson (Noah Wyle), a lawyer who has realized, belatedly, how much damage he has helped facilitate against helpless people.

“The character was pitched to me as kind of a Michael Clayton-type high corporate lawyer/fixer type,” Wyle explains in the video below. “A guy whose client list is a whole laundry list of all the bad guys in today’s society, but never really focused on the fact that he was doing any kind of harm. He was focused on his own expertise as a lawyer, and in the precision of his own work.”
