PUSHING DAISIES Sneak Peek
October 10, 2007 by Kath Skerry
For the creators of the new hit show PUSHING DAISIES it seems that the reception of tonight’s second episode might be as important as the viewer’s take on the premiere. There was so much advanced hype and early critical acclaim that hardly a review was written where Pushing Daisies’ ability to maintain the show’s magic wasn’t called into question.
So I guess tonight is the big test. Last week 13M people watched the premiere episode and the reception from new fans have been incredible. Can tonight’s episode titled “Dummy” maintain the brilliance of the first episode? YES!! I was lucky enough to catch an early look at this episode two week’s ago while I was on set and let me be the first to tell you it’s fantastic! The visuals, the perfect dialogue, the budding romance between the Ned the pie maker and his childhood sweetheart Chuck – all present and accounted for.
Check out a scene from tonight’s episode.
- We’ll see how Ned & Chuck navigate living together under the constant worry of touching
- Tonight’s episode is jam packed once again with amazing dialouge, so last week’s “Rules for Watching Pushing Daisies” are still in effect (turn off the phone, put the laptop down, put the kids to bed, etc)
- Fans of Kristin Chenoweth are in for quite a treat tonight. The actress, who had a small but important part in last week’s premiere episode, has a little more to do tonight. Fans of hers will be excited!!
- Ned and Chuck take their relationship to the next level – what that means for two people that can’t touch…well just wait and see
Tune in tonight at 8/7c on ABC and watch PUSHING DAISIES. Then after the show, join me and other fans in discussing the episode over at ThePieMaker.com.
And a special thank you for those GMMR readers who came by ThePieMaker.com last Wednesday to support my new pet project. Dan and I really appreciated it and we hope you come by and hang with us tonight.

I already commented on this clip over at The Pie Maker. But I wanted to say it here too. This clip makes me so happy. I’ve already watched it about a dozen times and am cracking up (at work) at the part where Chuck makes an Emerson face.
I’ve had a bad day and a really bad week. The only thing keeping me from slipping into permanent depressed vegetable-ism is waiting for tonight’s episode. I know it’s going to be fantastic.
I want to watch the clip so bad- but I’m going to be good and wait a few more hours! I’m so excited 😀
I have to say that I am absolutely head-over-heels in love with this show. It’s definitely my new TV favorite. I just love ALL of it – the characters, the visuals, the dialog, the concept. I think I’ve watched the premiere at least 6 times on my TiVo, and I know I’ll watch it more. It’s just fantastic. I’m looking for some good forums for some DISCUSSION about it, too – anyone know of any out there?

I’m very excited about tonight’s episode! First new episode in a while for me, since I saw the pie-lette at Comic Con. I’m just trying to figure out how I can very quickly make dinner after I get home from class at 7:45 before the show starts at 8 so I can follow your rules of watching. (no DVR, sadly.) Man, Wednesdays are the best TV days this year.
Thanks, Kathie! I just threw my name in the hat over there. I would love to help out if it means access to a forum!
It’s 8:00 here….off to watch!
Sounds awesome!! I’m over at ThePieMaker.com. See you there after the show.
Just as I was saying – “You know what sucks when great Broadway actors are cast on TV? They never get to sing.” – the beautiful thing happened. I am sooooo happy. That made my week, and (not that I want poor Olive’s heart to break often) I hope it happens more often! Release the orchestra in her heart (maybe even joyfully?)!
I love this show.
hehe aww! It definitely lived up to the premiere – such a great episode! I love the cuteness / innocence of Ned and Chuck – I hope the ratings are still up to par this week!
ahhhh it was so amazing! I am totally in love with kristen chenoweth, and did you ever think you would find a kiss that took place between two people in body bags to be so sweet?! 🙂 thank heavens for this adorable, creative show!
Just checked out the Piemaker site, and on their front page (not the forums), they have a YouTube video of “Hopelessly Devoted.” Yay!

I love dvr! I was able to catch this episode even though i was away. I am so glad too, because I loved it. I even have gotten my husband excited about it, and the only TV he will usually watch is documentaries ( and of course he loves The Office too). I hope the ratings stay up so this show can stick around for a very long time.
My husband likes it, too. Last night he said, “Come on! Our show is almost on!” Now we have a show! He watches “The Office” with me, too, but he’s not as obsessive about it as I have been in the past. But he really likes this.
This is really jumping the gun, I know, but I have a feeling this DVD set will be awesome. I’ll want to hang the covers on my living room walls as decoration so I can soak up all of those beautiful colors.
