Macy’s Day Parade Gets Rickrolled

It’s seems I’m a little bit behind on the times. I skipped this year’s Macy’s Day parade and as a result I missed this hilarious display. It seems a parade float featuring a children’s television show got Rickrolled - by Rick Astley himself.
This is probably old news to you by now, but I found it hilarious. Especially at the very end when a puppet declares “I like Rickrolling.” Ha ha
Straight No Chaser: 12 Days of Christmas

Thanksgiving is over and with the last bite of turkey comes the start of the holiday season. For me, the holiday season is all about playing one of my favorite YouTube videos over and over again with no guilt. I know I’ve posted it before, but it’s worth a second third fourth as many looks as it can get.
Presenting Straight No Chaser’s “12 Days of Christmas”
From the official Straight No Chaser website:
Originally formed a dozen years ago while students together at Indiana University, the a cappella group has reassembled and reemerged after their video for ‘The 12 Days of Christmas’ became a phenomenon with almost 8 million views on YouTube. In an era when so much pop music is the product of digital processing and vocal pro-tooling, Straight No Chaser is the real deal- the captivating sound of ten unadulterated human voices coming together to make extraordinary music that is moving people in a fundamental sense…and with a sense of humor. Buy it now: Straight No Chaser “Holiday Spirits”
(GMMR makes no money from the sale of this album. The inner Gleeker in me just wants the boys to do well.)
If you are a fan, get lost in the Straight No Chaser world on YouTube including interviews, and webisodes documenting their reunion.

BONES: The Bone That Blew

What is with the two random guys finding a skeleton at the beginning of an episode gag? We’ve seen that like five times this season!
The Case:
The body of a ‘manny’ is found in and among a tree area. The bones were blown by the wind, but how did they get there? Well, glad you asked. There’s an entire experiment on it. But once the team figures out how the skeleton came to its resting place, they still had to figure out how it became a skeleton at all. The case was sort of interesting, and I thought Dr. E, aka ‘Jasmine’ was guilty. She wasn’t, but I kind of wish she had been. The real killers were kind of creepy.
A Baby Boom on HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER

Just a few weeks after it was confirmed that Allyson Hannigan and her husband Alexis Denisof are expecting their first child, word comes today that the other female lead on HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER is also expecting.
Colbie Smulders, who plays Robin Scherbatsky, is expecting her first child with boyfriend Taran Killam.
What are they drinking over at HIMYM?
As far as storyline goes, Lily (Hannigan) and her husband Marshall (Jason Segal) recently decided against having a baby right now. Some fans (ok, maybe just me) figured it was just a deflection and the the onscreen twosome would be babying it up some time soon. But Robin having a baby brings a whole other dimension to the show.
Do you think the pregnancy will be hidden behind pillows? Smolders is due in late spring, so she’s going to be quite pregnant during the taping of the end of the season.
No matter what happens storywise, congrats to Cobie and Taran!!!
Thanks to Jamie for the tip!!

HOUSE: “Last Resort”

When Fox rolled out the first set of teasers, trailers, and promotional photos for this week’s House, I had involuntary flashbacks to the array of “special” episodes that have become commonplace for hit network dramas. In fact, were it not for my faith in the House creative stable, I would have spent all sixty-eight minutes waiting for a falling helicopter, a burning ferry boat, or a knife wielding psychopath to bring heaps of destruction to Princeton Plainsboro Teaching Hospital. Instead of relying on exaggerated antics and high-priced digital effects, the House team invigorated viewers by allowing their eclectic writers and talented cast to navigate through an emotional minefield.
