THE LAST MAN ON EARTH: Will Forte, Chris Miller, and Phil Lord Preview Fox’s Unique New Comedy

It’s not uncommon for people associated with shows to claim they’re doing something that hasn’t been done on television before. Occasionally, they’re at least partially correct. But when talking about the new Fox comedy, THE LAST MAN ON EARTH, it’s hard to think of any other series that has attempted something quite like this — there is nothing on television to hold it up against, the show is its own unique being.

The basic premise is simple: Phil Miller (Will Forte) is, as the title suggests, the last man in the world. He traveled all over looking for another living being, and has now settled in Arizona (with some ball buddies).

Beyond that? The series gets a bit more complicated, as layers of the show are pulled back that really can’t be discussed until it airs.

AMERICAN HORROR STORY: Lady Gaga Joins Season 5

Lady Gaga has joined the FX anthology series, AMERICAN HORROR STORY for its fifth season.

The singer posted a video announcing her casting on Twitter, and also announced that the latest version of the horror series will be subtitled “Hotel.”

Other cast members — and a premiere date — have yet to be announced, but it’s likely there will be a bit more insight during the show’s March 15th PaleyFest panel.

In the (hilarious) exclusive video below, the cast — Rainn Wilson, Dennis Haysbert, Genevieve Angelson, Kristoffer Polaha, Page Kennedy, Beatrice Rosen, and Thomas Dekker — and Hanson share their pitches for the show, but can’t get it quite right. There are a lot of giggles, pitches to show Wilson’s butt on network TV, some misspeaking (nope, this isn’t taking place in the “special victims unit”), a ton of poking fun at each other, and general hilarity.

THE VOICE Audition Highlight: Meghan Linsey Sings ‘Love Hurts’

THE VOICE is an incredibly platform for discovering new talent, but one of the most memorable auditions of the night (for me) was Meghan Linsey…AKA one half of the country music duo, Steel Magnolia.

Linsey — who at one point toured with THE VOICE coach Blake Shelton — made an impression going solo…and managed to get multiple chairs to turn.

THE VOICE coach Christina Aguilera stopped by THE TONIGHT SHOW STARRING JIMMY FALLON on Monday night, and given her vocal talents, host Jimmy Fallon had her play “Wheel of Musical Impressions.”

The “random” stops had Aguilera impersonating Cher (her BURLESQUE co-star), Britney Spears (her MICKEY MOUSE CLUB co-star), and Shakira (a fellow VOICE coach), but man, Aguilera was spot-on.
