Comments Off on ARROW: Stephen Amell Previews Oliver’s Time in Prison

When ARROW returns for its seventh season, Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) is in a tough place: in prison, isolated from his friends and family.

“There’s nothing about him that’s heroic,” Amell told reporters in the video below. “It’s kind of the opposite, actually. It’s really tough. I’ve enjoyed it; I’ve been having a good time playing it. But it’s been tough.”

Comments Off on ARROW: Stephen Amell on Matt Ryan’s Guest Spot as Constantine

ARROW is no stranger to crossing over with other DC/The CW shows — the series has served as the launching pad/frequent crossover partner for THE FLASH, and it’s now helping to set the stage for the upcoming LEGENDS OF TOMORROW — but in tonight’s episode, it’s doing something new: crossing over with DC/NBC’s departed series, CONSTANTINE.

John Constantine’s magical knowledge will also prove to be vital — with Sara alive and soulless, Constantine might be the only one who can help put her back together.

Stephen Amell (Oliver) spoke with reporters on the show’s Vancouver set about working with CONSTANTINE’s Matt Ryan on the episode… Read more

ARROW season 4 is making a few big changes.

In addition to Oliver Queen’s new Green Arrow costume (which made its debut at Comic-Con over the weekend), the show has also added Neal McDonough as Damien Darhk.

“Oliver knows precious little about Damien Darhk,” ARROW star Stephen Amell told reporters, in the video below. “I don’t even know if he understands when Ra’s referred to a ‘H.I.V.E. of operatives’ that he meant an actual H.I.V.E.; that’s Diggle knowledge, that’s not Oliver knowledge. [But] Damien brings elements to Starling City that…I think will help fuel our flashback story this year with Oliver.”

THE FLASH and ARROW have been loosely tied together since Barry Allen debuted on ARROW a year ago, but this week, the dramas embark on a full-on crossover as Team Arrow visits THE FLASH in “Flash vs. Arrow,” while Team Flash pops over on ARROW during “The Brave and the Bold.”

“The best thing you can do is it’s not just a gimmick,” ARROW/THE FLASH executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told reporters earlier this season. “[These crossovers are] also advancing the storylines that we’ve been telling and your characters really grow…both of these crossovers, they’re not just about the crossovers of the cast — they are really important episodes for what Barry has been going through, and what Oliver’s going through. We have one of the biggest surprises of ARROW of all time on THE FLASH episode [of the crossover]. And both episodes are really important for Barry’s growth.”

“It was fun to have the dynamic back from when I was [first] on ARROW a year ago,” THE FLASH star Grant Gustin (Barry) added. “That was when I met Barry, and he was so fun and awkward, and the dynamic between him and Oliver was so fun. And we got to recreate that. And it’s evolved. It’s really different than anything else on the show, which is nice.”

For more on the crossover, Gustin and ARROW star Stephen Amell (Oliver) teased a few more secrets while speaking with reporters on the shows’ Vancouver sets…

THE FLASH: Robbie Amell to Recur

Filed under The Flash, The Tomorrow People

THE FLASH has yet to debut, but it is getting a little extra superhero help: a rep for the show has confirmed that the show has cast Robbie Amell in the recurring role of Ronnie Raymond (AKA Firestorm). Amell will debut in THE FLASH’s third episode.

“Geoff Johns, Andrew Kreisberg and myself designed the pilot and series to include Ronnie (aka Firestorm) — and to actually have someone with Robbie’s talent playing the role is beyond exciting,” THE FLASH executive producer Greg Berlanti said in a statement. “We can’t wait for viewers and fans of the character to check it out.”

Amell — who is cousins with ARROW star Stephen Amell (whose show hosted the introduction of THE FLASH’s Barry Allen, and who will appear in THE FLASH pilot) — is also a familiar face to The CW fans: he spent last season as the lead of THE TOMORROW PEOPLE.

arrow-the-flash-featured

It’s been more than four months since it was announced that Flash/Barry Allen would be making his debut in the ARROW universe (with the intention to build a spinoff around that character), and tonight is the night viewers will finally get to meet him.

“Barry comes to Starling City because there is an unexplained robbery at Queen Consolidated, and Barry is very interested in the unexplained throughout the course of these two episodes,” ARROW executive producer Andrew Kreisberg teased to reporters earlier this week. “[Barry]’s the opposite of Oliver in a lot of ways: he’s funny and he’s outgoing, and a little unsure of himself, and smart.”

As for Barry’s portrayer — former GLEE guest star Grant Gustin — ARROW executive producers have nothing but praise for their newest star.
