James Lafferty of One Tree Hill

Ladies..ask and ye shall receive. After receiving a ton of email (and I promise I read every single one of them), One Tree Hill’s James Lafferty has been named this week’s GMMR’s Friday Boy Toy. Congratulations James. Thanks to all that have voted. I will definitely keep your nominations in mind for future Boy Toys.

James Lafferty was a pleasant surprise nomination. I haven’t watched One Tree Hill in a few years, so James wasn’t on my radar, but many of you thought he was worthy of such an honor. I don’t disagree. I actually had the pleasure of seeing James in person a few months back. We were both at the bar/club in the lobby of the hotel I was staying at in LA. They boy is fine, and I mean FINE!!

So Much TV, So Little Time to Blog

Give Me My RemoteYou know, I try to watch TV so I can jump in here and talk about it with all of you. But lately, by the time I am caught up watching my shows it’s really late, and all I want to do is crash*. So then I don’t have any time to write about all the shows I watched for the night.

There is a ton of TV that I watch every week, but you would never know because I just can’t find the time to cover them all. So for today, because my “real job” is going to keep me busy, I thought I would throw out a few random thoughts on the shows I’ve been watching. I’d love to hear what you are watching these days, and what shows you’d like me talk about more on GMMR.

The following contains spoilers for last night’s Big Brother and So You Think You Can Dance – just fair warning in case they are sitting on your TiVo.

Random Thoughts by GMMR…

Big Brother All Stars

Crazy-eyed Alison was the first houseguest evicted from the Big Brother House. I’m glad to see her scheming ass go. But I think it would have been a much smarter play to evict Danielle. Alison would have dug her own grave because the girl just can’t keep her trap shut. The houseguests could have used her as a shield for at least 2 more weeks.

Howie’s obsession with Dr. Will is hysterical. His not-so-hetero man crush could be my favorite part of the show. My least favorite part of the show? Anything having to do with Chicken George. He is driving me crazy.  He’s not going to make it far in the Big Brother house, so why don’t they just get rid of him soon so we can all have a bit more fun. And finally, we need more Marcellas. He’s flying a bit too far under the radar for my liking.

Kaysar won HOH this week, so it looks like the BB6 Alliance is going strong in week 2. Queen TV will be watching the live feeds and providing us with an update mid-week.

So You Think You Can Dance

I LOVE the group dances at the start of the show….usually. I wasn’t a fan of last night’s disco number. I’m just not a fan of disco in general. The kids danced it well, but it just wasn’t my taste.

In the end we had to say goodbye to Ashlee and Musa. Noooo…I love Musa. But since he was up against Dimitri and Travis, he didn’t really have a shot.

For a full recap of last night’s SYTYCD results show, as well as a heads up on how the show is completely flipping the switch on us next week, click here.

Psych

Ok, this wasn’t a show on last night but it IS on tonight, and I think you should check it out. I caught the premiere episode last week and I was presently surprised. It’s pretty funny, and I like the premise. There is something comforting about seeing Dule Hill back on TV.

You can watch the premiere episode of Psych over at the USA website. Watch the second episode tonight on USA at 10/9c.

*Um, a quick piece of advice. When you are on a VERY small plane, in the middle of a horrific storm, it might not be the best time to tell your friend that you “can’t wait to crash” (as in fall asleep). It just doesn’t go over well. Trust me.

Comedian Red Buttons Dies at 87

Red Buttons, a Borscht Belt comic who rose to instant television stardom on his own variety show in 1952, descended to obscurity three years later after his program was canceled, and then rebounded to win the Academy Award as best supporting actor in 1958 for his dramatic performance in “Sayonara,” died today at his home in Los Angeles. John Krasinski Does Talk Shows (WATCH CLIPS)

OK, ok I hear you!! I get so many people to my site everyday looking for clips of The Office’s John Krasinski from his various talk show appearances. I’ll make sure to add more as they are available. And if you have a clip of John on a talk show, make sure to send it along and I will add it.

* John’s 2nd appearance with Jay Leno is online, but I had to remove it from this page because the person who posted the video asked me to take it down as it wasn’t meant to be shared with the masses. Oh well. If I can find it somewhere else I will be sure to post it here.

McDreamy and the Purse Girl

It doesn’t suck to be Amy Adams.  The Oscar nominated actress has had some fine looking leading men over the past few years. When I first saw Ms. Adams she was madly in love with Leonardo DiCaprio in Catch Me if You Can.  Then she was the Katy (the purse girl), the on-screen girlfriend of my off-screen TV boyfriend, John Krasinski, on The Office.  And now she is living out most women’s fantasies by being the object of Patrick Demspey’s affection in the upcoming Disney movie Enchanted.

Check out these adorable pics of Amy and McDreamy as they shot scenes the other day in Central Park.

So You Think You Can Dance? Well You Can Make Me Cry

So You Think You Can Dance

I’ll be completely honest with you. I am competely intimidated to write any recaps for So You Think You Can Dance, and I’ll tell you why. I don’t know the first thing about dancing. The only dancing I’m familiar with is the kind that happens when pre K-Fed Britney comes on in a bar after I’ve had 6 Capt’n & Cokes. Analyzing someones technique is beyond me. But I will say this – I know what I like when I see it.

So You Think You Can Dance has been such a fun discovery for me this summer, and I know if my TiVo could talk it would thank for me getting into this show (ok, I guess my TiVo would first bitch me out for working it too hard, but then he would thank me). This show is ripping at the seams with energy from beginning to end. The dances are all simply fantastic. I’m going to let my friend Ducky break down each of last night dances for you since his assessment is always better than mine, BUT..but…but…I cannot end this post without mentioning Ivan and Allison’s routine tonight. It was simply amazing. And although I open myself up for some major ribbing here, I will admit to you that I had tears in my eyes at the end of their performance. I don’t know if it’s because of how crazy good Ivan has become over the past few weeks and I was just proud (he is my favorite little guy), or if it was Allison and Ivan’s AMAZING chemistry. But watching their dance made me quite emotional. I was a bit relieved when crazy Mary Murphy, one of the more harsher judges, was also moved to tears by their performance. It was just so beautiful.

So You Think You Can Dance

Oh and speaking of crazy Mary Murphy (the judge, not my friend Ryan’s wife..lol), she may be the most annoying woman on the planet. At first I thought she was just Paula Abdul on crack, but then I thought, hmmm…Paula Abdul is Paula Abdul on crack, so how else can I describe Mary. I’m not sure there are words. Her nails on the chalkboard voice makes Fran Drescher sound like the lead soprano in the choir of angels. She just irks me to no end. And the worst part…she thinks she is sooooo funny. Yeah, no. Not at all. So she’s part Paula Abdul, part Fran Drescher, with a bit of Valerie Cherish thrown in for good measure. So all together she’s like my worst nightmare.

But if putting up with Mary means I get to see a little more of Ivan, Allison, Travis, Martha, Benji, Donyelle, Natalie, Musa, Dimitri and yes, even crazy cousin Heidi, then I can deal. Um, notice who I left off the list. Yeah, Ryan and Ashlee…I’m done with both of you. Sorry, but during your routines, I hardly notice you are there because I am so busy watching how incredible your respective partners are.

GMMR Predictions for bottom three couples: Natalie & Musa, Ashlee & Dimitry, Cousin Heidi & Ryan.
GMMR Predictions for who is going to be shuffling off the show: Ryan and Ashlee

(I’m so dying to figure out who Ducky thinks is staying and going. I’m sure he’ll be posting his fab recap in just a little bit. Make sure you check it out at DuckyxDale.blogspot.com)

John Krasinski to Appear in Shrek 3

John Krasinskin in Shrek

DreamWorks Animation has cast a small medieval kingdom’s worth of fairy tale characters to appear in “Shrek the Third.

The next installment of the smelly ogre’s saga, set for release next year, will star an elite, ninja-like strike force of fairy tale princesses voiced by Amy Sedaris as Cinderella, Amy Poehler as Snow White, Maya Rudolph as Rapunzel and Cheri Oteri as Sleeping Beauty.

Organized by Princess Fiona, the ladies underground resistance movement fends off a coup d’etat by Prince Charming (Rupert Everett) in the land of Far, Far Away.

Also joining the hit animated comedy’s cast are Ian McShane as Captain Hook, John Krasinski as Sir Lancelot and Monty Python veteran Eric Idle as Merlin the magician.

And yes, I look for EVERY opportunity to post a very large picture of John Krasinski on this site.

It’s “The Office” Thursday on Give Me My Remote

With the launch of The Office webisodes on NBC.com, I thought it would only be fitting to have a mid-Summer Office Thursday. You know me…any excuse to talk about my favorite comedy. We’ve got a lot of goodies for you Office-ianados today. Make sure you come back throughout the day and check this post to see if any other Office-goodness has been added.

On we go…

IGN.com talks with Office writers Michael Schur and Paul Lieberstein (Toby) about the new webisodes, what Creed might be up to in upcoming episodes, and how far along they are in scripting season 3. (Click here to read)

My boy Brian Baumgartner, who plays Kevin Malone, now has his own blog on TVGuide.com Check out today’s inaugural blog. Can I just say that I LOVE Brian. I think he is hysterical on the show, and steals almost every scene he is in. That and he just seems like a really nice guy. (Click here to read)

Angela Martin and Brian Baumgartner did a mini press junket for the premiere of the webisodes. Angela’s MySpace blog has a list of cities, dates and times where their segments will be airing. Check it out to see if Angela and Brian will be on your local station TODAY. (Click here for full list of segments)

Speaking of Angela’s blog, check out this crazy adorable picture of Angela and Jenna Fischer (Pam) sporting their BEESLY/MARTIN hoodies. Jenna’s sweatshirt might look a bit familiar. She was sporting it on recent appearance on Celebrity Poker Showdown. Actually, Angela made these one of a kind hoodies just for the event (Jenna brought along Angela as her guest to the game).

Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey of The Office
How cute are those hoodies? If you want to show your support of The Office to the world, make sure you check out the GMMR Online Store. We’ve got a LOT of great Office stuff including t-shirts, mugs, and more. And can’t you just picture yourself in a Where’s My Jim Halpert t-shirt, or a Flonkerton sweatshirt? Come on. Click here to see all The Office t-shirts and more.

I know what you’re thinking….GMMR you can’t possibly write an Office Thursday post without mentioning Jim and Pam. Damn, you know me so well. You know that I can’t get enough of the Jim and Pam fanvids that are ALL OVER youtube.com. I’m liking the video below because it features one of my favorite songs, “My Immortal” by Evanescence. Thanks to Becky for creating this video.

Special thanks to OfficeTally.com for a heads up on the IGN article.

The Office Webisodes are Here

The Office Webisodes

Starting today, viewers can go to NBC.com and watch mini-episodes (or webisodes if you will) of The Office.  These exclusive online series of short videos follows the Accounting Department of Dunder Mifflin as they search high and low for some missing money.  Can Oscar, Angel and Kevin find the culprit?

A new Office webisode will launch every Thursday up until the mouch anticipated Season 3 premiere in September.

Heads up from GMMR...

I found the webisodes a little difficult to find. Tsk tsk at NBC for not making the videos easier to get to.  See most of the links on NBC.com just link to you the The Office section on NBC.com, but unfortunately unless you know to go into the VIDEOS section of that site, you won’t be able to find the webisodes.

To make it a bit easier for you, you can click on the image above, or just follow this link to watch the first 2 Office webisodes.

Project Runway is Back…Work it Girl

July 13, 2006 by

The following contains spoilers for last night’s Project Runway. Read at your own risk.

Project Runway Season 3

The third season of Project Runway has officially begun. As always, we are introduced to each of the designers as they arrive and move into Atlas New York, where they will be living for the remainder of the show. The little vignettes give us a brief look at who each designer is and let’s face it, the most important factor – the attitude they bring along in their swanky Louis Vuitton bags.

Malan Breton45 seconds into the show and I already know who I am ready to boot off the catwalk. Malan Breton is a pompous jackass whose fake accent seems to change with the wind. He’s so creepy looking I may have nightmares about him. I don’t buy that his name is even Malan. From here on out, he’s going to be known as Creepy Faux Malan. Done and done.

The contestants are invited to the roofdeck to join Heidi and Tim in a little champagne toast to usher in the new season. The designers don’t even get a chance to catch a buzz before they are given their first challenge. They are told they have to make an outfit that best describes their fashion point of view – but, they can only use materials found in their apartments. They have 15 minutes to go downstairs and gather anything and everything they would need to make their outfit.

Armed with scissors and a laundry bag the designers are off. Mere minutes later the apartments are toe up. The obvious items like curtains, bed sheets, and shower curtains are the first to go. But then chaisse lounges are being ripped apart, shades are being taken off lamps, sconces are being pulled from the walls. Nothing was sacred, and everythin was gone. Faux Malan thought the processed was “undignifed.” Oh shut it Faux…I will kill you.

The designers have 8 hours to pull off their creations. The egos come out to play and the drama begins. Before you know it Tim Gunn is there with a a few “hmmms”, “I don’t see where you’re going with that”, and his signature “make it work”. Man, how I’ve missed “make it work”. The models are soon in hair and makeup and the runway action begins.

Celebrity judge, Kate Spade, joins Michael, Nina and Heidi on the panel. Most of the designs looks like curtains and bed sheets…oh wait. But really, some are done so much better than others. As always there is a winner and a loser.

Winning the first Project Runway 3 Designers Challenge is….KEITH. And going home this week is STACEY.

Project Runway Season 3

I’m so glad Project Runway is back, and that this year’s designers are just as obnoxious as in year’s past. I think I miss Santino. Oh God, can I take that back?!

Rainn Wilson on Conan Tonight!!!

Rainn Wilson as Dwight SchruteJust a reminder that Rainn Wilson, who plays Dwight Schrute on NBC’s The Office, will be a guest on Late Night with Conan O’Brien. Don’t be confused by the date, although Rainn is technically on the show tomorrow, it’s the one airing late on Wednesday. Because Conan starts at 12:35am, it can get a bit confusing.

I’m sure Rainn will be talking about My Super Ex-Girlfriend as well as The Office webisodes that premiere tomorrow (woo hoo!).

If Rainn wasn’t reason enough to watch Conan (and he is), Stephen Colbert of The Colbert Report will also be a guest. This is going to be one funny show.

UPDATE: The wonderful Jennie at OfficeTally.com just posted that Rainn will be on Live with Regis and Kelly on Thursday morning.

-and-

NBC will be airing a repeat of John Krasinski’s appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno at 2am (EST).  Check your local listings.
