Project Runway Season 3

Project Runway @ 10/9C on Bravo…and don’t forget to tune into the Project Runway Casting Special at 9/8C

Hem lines, catwalks, and cat fights. Yes, Project Runway is back tonight. I just came across Project Runway last season, and I was floored at how quickly I became addicted. I happen to think it’s one of the best reality shows on TV today. Emmy voters agree as Project Runway is up for Best Reality show at the 58th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.

So You Think You Can Dance

So You Think You Can Dance @ 8/7c on Fox

It’s down to 12 dancers, and they are all ready to shake what their mamas gave them in order to stay in the competition. If you haven’t yet given this show a chance, just flip it on at 8/7c tonight and see what you think. Even if you aren’t a fan of reality shows, just enjoy the talent. These kids are some incredible dancers.

Rescue Me Recap

Title: “Zombies”
Original Airdate: July 11, 2006

Brushing his teeth in the bathroom, Tommy bursts into tears, which he hides when Lou interrupts him. Tommy heads out to a brutal street hockey game with the crew. (I’m beginning to think Leary puts these scenes in so he can get a workout without leaving work.) During the game the other captain mentions the Probie’s potential transfer to Tommy, who tells him hands off. Also, Sean gets checked and hurts his ankle, and the guys win money on the game.

Back at the firehouse, Sean asks for some painkillers, which Tommy supplies (after the obligatory heckling). He tells Sean to take the brown pills, as they other pills are leftovers from when he was a junkie.

At Janet’s, making dinner, Johnny is a model boyfriend. He’s involved with the kids, he helps out around the house, and he’s never sarcastic. Janet looks a little bored.

As the crew bitches about how to spend the money, Sean comes in, feeling revitalized after taking some of Tommy’s pills. The Chief then breaks the news to the crew that according to new regulations they must remove all their porn from the firehouse. They tear through, picking up their trashy mags, then notice Sean is out cold at the table, his face planted in Lou’s spinach dip. Guess he didn’t take the brown pills. Nope, he took the Somunal, a sleeping pill which apparently makes a person sleep-walk, sleep-drive, and sleep-eat.

Veronica Mars’ Ex-Boy Toy Moves to Smallville

July 11, 2006 by
Filed under TV News, Veronica Mars

Aaron AhsmoreFor those of you hoping to see Veronica Mars‘ ex, Troy Vandergraff walking the halls along side Veronica and Wallace at Hearst College this year, sorry, but it ain’t happening.

TV Guide’s Michael Ausiello has reported that Aaron Ashmore, who played Troy during season one of VM, and reprised his role briefly last season, has been cast as Jimmy Olsen on Smallville.

But ya know, now that Veronica Mars and Smallville are both on The CW, maybe there will be a little crossover. I kind of liked the idea of seeing Troy around campus next year.

Oh and diehard Smallville fans, don’t be surprised if Aaron looks a wee bit familiar. His twin brother, Shawn, previously appeared on Smallville as Eric Summers.
For more on this bit of casting news, check out The Ausiello Report.

Give Me My Remote

Big Brother SPOILERS!!! Who won Power of Veto? Who is going to be sent home? I’m going to let Queen TV tell you ALL about it. (Queen TV)

American Idol hottie Chris Daughtry inked a new record deal. Wow…didn’t see that one coming. (Zap2It)

Season 3 of Veronica Mars will be here before you know it (GMMR does happy dance). Minor details are starting to emerge including premiere dates and episode titles. Ducky has the scoop. (DuckyxDale)

Speaking of our favorite super-slueth, will all of Veronica’s friends be coming back to Neptune, CA this year? Check out TV and Sympathy to hear the latest from Mac (Tina Majorino) and last season’s guest star, Arrested Development’s Alia Shawkat. (TV and Sympathy)

You’ve heard about all the drama with Kathy Griffin lately, right? It seems that her ex-husband Matt, who has been featured prominently on her reality show, stole over $72,000 from our favorite red headed. What a jackass. Get all the details, including Matt’s most recent public statement. (Tabloid Whore)

Stargate SG-1 begins its 10th season on Friday. How about a little trivia on America’s longest running Sci Fi show. (The Watcher)

Is Zach Braff trying to move on from Mandy Moore with Jessica Simpson? Say it ain’t so. I think Zach should get back together with (the much prettier, and more talented) Mandy. Like right now. This instant. And my feelings have nothing to do with the fact that she is currently filming honeymoon scenes for License to Wed in Jamaica with my TV boyfriend, John Krasinski. Nope, not at all. I’m just a kind-hearted girl who wants to see Mandy and Zach happy…with eachother…and no one else. (Fatback and Collards)

From the desk of GMMR…

Hey GMMRers, I’m sorry that I haven’t been posting as much as I should lately. There is so much I want to chat about with all of you, but I have just been crazy busy lately. I’m going to do my best to find some time today (perhaps on my lunch break) to share my thoughts on pressing TV issues, inlcuding: the premiere of Psych, the comedy with so much buzz the bees are jealous, and what we can expect during the week ahead on TV.

Meanwhile, I hope you area taking full advantage of the Give Me My Remote Forums, and talking about your favorite shows with your fellow TV addicts. I’ll think you’ll find the forums to be a lot of fun, and unlike some other TV-related message boards (not naming names), people are really cool and respectful of everyone’s opinions. That is unless you disagree with ME, and I tear you to shreds 🙂

I am completely shocked by the number of you that are supporting this little site of mine by buying shirts, mugs, magnets and more in the Give Me My Remote Online Store. Sales have been insane lately. I really do appreciate it, as each sale helps to keep this site going. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Finally, a special shoutout to GMMR reader, Stephanie in Colorado, who I understand is recovering from back surgery. Hope you are feeling better. We’ll all be thinking of you!!!

Alright, off to work I go. See you kids later!!!

Entourage “Crash and Burn”

Entourage: Ari, Eric and Vince

Last night’s episode of Entourage did neither crash nor burn. I think it might have been one of the strongest episodes to date. Here’s what went down.

With help from Ari and Eric, Vince puts the heat on the studio to delay “Aquaman 2” so he can film his dream project, “Medellin.” They manage to buy a 65-day window, but “Medellin” director Paul Haggis can’t see himself chopping his script or trimming the shooting schedule. Eric comes up with a solution, convincing the director to shoot part of the script after Aquaman, and everyone’s happy. Vince sets up a meeting with the head of Warner Brothers to tell him the good news.

Meanwhile, Ari is still preoccupied with his daughter’s burgeoning romance with Max. He undermines one of his own kid clients, recommending Max to Penny Marshall as the lead for her tween terror film shooting in Kazakhstan. Turtle requests a sit down with Ari when Saigon starts getting heavy play on the radio and the calls from labels come rolling in. When Drama calls “shotgun” on Turtle’s lunch with Ari, he finally gets Mr. Gold Standard to agree to represent him.

They’re all in for a surprise when Vince meets with the studio head, who has changed his mind on “Medellin” — he can’t have Aquaman “snorting crack across the multiplexes.” Beside himself, Vince demands $20 million to do the sequel. “What’d I miss?” Ari asks when he arrives late for the dinner.

Entourage: Ari, Drama, Turtle

It’s kind of redundant to say that Ari Gold was on his game last night, because come on, when is Ari not on his game? But last night Ari was the guy in the circus doing the crazy juggling act. Turtle and his emerging career, Drama and his lack of one, Vince and Eric with the Aquaman/Medellin drama, and of course his little girl’s new boyfriend…it all culminated in a fast paced episode with great momentum from beginning to end.

Entourage, Ari Gold and Penny MarshallAnd once again Entourage handles cameos like no other. Last season it was James Cameron playing the hot shot director, and now it’s Crash writer/director Paul Haggis. Throw in a little Penny Marshall and you’ve got special ingredient that makes Entourage so damn cool…the crossover between TV life and real life Hollywood.

This show has come so far since Season One. It’s really incredible. I do have one complaint though. Would it kill HBO to actually air 30 minutes of this show? It doesn’t star until 10:02pm, and then there is a 2 minute “previously on”, and then the show ends at 10:25pm. I feel like we are getting screwed a bit. Come on…a full half hour for one of the best shows on TV. Is that too much to ask?

Final thought…who knew “shotgun” could apply to so many settings?

The Office to Visit The Office

The Office Visits The Office

Ok, I am kind of flipping out right now. DuckyxDale just brought my attention to an excerpt from TVGuide.com which claims that some of the cast of the UK version of The Office will be appearing on the US version of The Office. I can’t…I just can’t.

Tim and Jim in the same scene. My TV might just blow up from that kind of perfection!! Dwight Schrute battling it out with Gareth Keenan for kiss ass of the year? If done right, this could be the funniest TV epsiode EVER!!!

Here’s what TVGuide.com had to say.

Per the New York Post, exec producer Ben Silverman says that cast members from the British comedy The Office will put in an appearance on NBC version this season. Silverman did not reveal any plot points or whether the actors will reprise their own Office roles, but did say that Wernham Hogg boss man Ricky Gervais will not be among the cameos: “We’re going to save the big man for now.”

I’m going to contact Jenna, BJ and the rest of The Office gang to see if I can get any details, or at least a confirmation.

UPDATE: I just got an email from Executive Producer/Writer/Actor, Paul Lieberstein (aka Toby). He said “there are availability issues, so we’ll see. We’re talking about it, though.”

Hey…that’s something!!
So this is what Cloud 9 feels like.

VH1’s World Series of Pop Culture

World Series of Pop Culture

Man did I ever miss my calling. VH1 has a new game show called The World Series of Pop Culture, and oh how I wish I had tried out. Teams of three compete against eachother answering questions about anything and everything relating to pop culture…current TV shows, movies sequels, famous theme songs and more. All this useless trivia rockin’ around in my skull could have actually earned me some bank. Here’s to hoping this season does well so I can try out next year.

Some of the contestants are a little dorky and a wee bit over the top, but I got a kick out of the show all the same.

The World Series of Pop Culture premieres on Monday, July 10th at 10/9c on VH1. To learn more about the show, including additional viewing times, check out the callout on the right hand side of this page.

The Hills, Katharine McPhee, JT vs. K-Fed and More…

Give Me My Remote

The Hills are alive with the sound of… Heidi‘s whiny voice. Ugh, this girl drives me batty. I hope her parents are completely embarassed that they rasied a child that is so useless in this world. LC why are you friends with her when you could be spending time with your long lost friend, Lo? What do Lauren and Heidi possibly have in common? Well they do love to shop, so I guess that’s something. Check out the pics. (Dlisted)

American Idol’s Katharine McPhee missed the kickoff of the American Idol tour. Um, Katharine, maybe we should have a little talk about work ethic. You NEVER call into sick your first day of work. Your first week is fine, but your first day? Come on. (Fatback and Collards)

Will & Grace star, Megan Mullally, has already found a new gig. Seems that Megan will be wasting her funny doing a talk show. Snore. Zzzz. Really? One of the funniest women on TV, and she is doing a talk show? If Jack isn’t her co-host, then I’m probably not going to bother watching. (Just Jared)

MTV’s Celebrity Deathmatch is back y’all. So who’s duking it out in ring this time around? Kevin “K-Fed” Federline and Justin “I’m so glad I didn’t marry Britney because she went to hell in a hand basket” Timberlake. Check out the pics and the videos (Popbytes)

Joan Rivers, Star Jones, Ryan Secrest, then….YOU?! Have you always wanted to be a red carpet corespondent? Well, now is your chance. E! is running a contest that will give a lucky somebody the chance to work the red carpet with Ryan Seacrest during the 58th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. I was thinking about sumbitting a tape, but I’m holding out hope to get my own Emmy press credentials. Fingers crossed. (E! Online)

Even in my house, the TV gets shut off once in awhile.  But usually it’s only because I’m off to the movies.  Before I hit the theaters, I always make sure to check out the latest reviews from my friends over at Pajiba. So if you are planning on checking out Beezlebub Wears the Issac Mizrahi Collection from Target, Pirates are a Bunch on Caribbean Queens, or It’s a Bird, it’s a Plane, it’s a Hot Guys in Tights, then you definitely want to check out Pajiba first to see if these flicks are worth the purse. Benji & Cousin Heidi Tear it Up

To continue with our So You Think You Can Dance lovefest, you must, must, must check out this video of Benji “I’m no relation to David” Schwimmer, and “Cousin” Heidi Groskreutz as they kickass and take names during the US National Swing Championships.

These are two current contestants, who just happen to be real life cousins who perform together dance together in competition. Even if you don’t want SYTYCD, you should check out the video anyway, because these are some seriously talented people.

[gv data=”j-QgnkARnTQ”][/gv]

I only have three quick comments…

One – they both need to wipe those stupid permagrins off their faces. It works for swing, but both continue to bring that cheese into their dances on the show and it drives me crazy.

Two – I am seriously concerned about these two ending up as partners on the show. Cousins shouldn’t touch that much, well unless of course they’re from the dirrty South.

Three – These two must be SO freakin’ annoying at family weddings. You know they find their way into the group circle whenever they can. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if they took over the floor during the bride & groom’s first dance togehter.

So You Think You Can Dance? Nope, Not at All

But the people on Fox’s hit show can dance their assess off. Did you know that I am a die-hard So You Think You Can Dance fan? Yup, I am. I just realized that I’m not sure I’ve ever shared that with you. Weird. Regardless, this is a fantastic show where people showcase their absolutely amazing talent for dance.

All genres of dance are explored in this fast-paced, explosion of movement (ha ha, that’s what you get when I try to pretend to be a real writer). Sadly most of the videos have been removed from YouTube.com, BUT I did come across this gem from my FAVORITE group number to date. Check it out.

UPDATE: Click here to check out Ducky’s take on last night’s results show. And check out last night’s HOT opening number.

Leave me a comment and let me know if you are watching this show. If you are, I think that maybe we need to spend a little more time talking about it here on GMMR.

Big Brother: All Stars Recap (7/6/06)

Big Brother: All Stars Recap

Did you catch last night’s Big Brother? As much as I hate to admit it, this show has already sucked me in. And that depsite the fact that I hate Julie Chen.

Go figure. GMMR’s friend Queen TV is back with a recap of last night’s kick-off to Big Brother: All Stars

The seventh edition of Big Brother is officially underway. All 14 houseguests were correctly revealed in the audio leak from earlier in the week. Speculation is that CBS had a hand in the leak in order to create some early buzz. At this point I would certainly hope that is the case since these flubs are happening quite frequently.

One thing that was actually surprising was both the Head of Household (HOH) competition and nominations were revealed on tonight’s premiere broadcast. Usually Big Brother drags out the first nominations and eviction for a couple of weeks but its nice to know they are getting right to business. Janelle and Jase won Co-Head of Household which seems to be a permanent twist at least for the early weeks. Janelle and Jase had to agree on the nominations or else they would both be put up for elimination. Danielle and Alison were the two that tried to convince Jase to disagree with Janelle in order to get Janelle out of the house. That plan back fired as Danielle and Alison were put on the block.

The Power of Veto competition and ceremony will likely be held over the weekend as well as any food or luxury competitions. Check back to Queen TV for the latest on competition spoilers, voting/alliance talk or anything juicy that may happen on the live feeds because until CBS shows it, they are all spoilers!

GMMR’s Two Cents…
I was shocked at how quickly the scheming got underway. If one guy whispers to another that his fly is down, people are assume they are forming an alliance. It’s kind of crazy. To be honest with you, it’s a little stressful to watch. I can’t imagine being in that environment, because there is no one to trust.

For you Office-newbies, this is a great chance to see just how the second season of TV’s best comedy wrapped up as tonights eps were the final three shows of the season.

And for all you kids wondering why all the critics were touting the season finale as one of the best of the season, well check out an encoure showing of “Casino Night”. You won’t be disappointed.

Um…what about the other categories? Best Supporting Actors? I thought all of the acting categories were going to be announced today. WTF? And NO Lauren Graham or Kristen Bell. Come on. Of course, I am happy for The Office and Steve Carell. Oh, and Kevin James??? Didn’t see that one coming – AT ALL!!! A few other shockers. No Lost, or Desperate Housewives (not that I’m complaining). Stockard Channing for Out of Practice? What, they can’t have an Emmy Award show without nominating this woman for something. I find it a bit suspect.

Guys, please your comments on all the craziness of this morning. I LOVE to hear what you all have to say. I’m going to be back in a little bit with more of my thoughts. But for right now, I have to go and spend some time with my shrine to John Krasinski. My boy didn’t get nominated (this year), but he’s a good person, and god dammit people like him.

UPDATE: Feel free to continue the Emmy debates in the GMMR Forums. I just created a new thread just for the snubs and surprises. Click here for all the Emmy talk.
