WIN!! A Script Signed by the Cast of FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS

You know that I’ve been hounding you all year to give NBC’s FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS a shot. As I’ve said before, I think it’s the best drama on all of TV and you owe it to yourself to check it out. No more excuses…the summer reruns are about to kick in and now is the chance to catch up. The best way to watch “Friday Night Lights” as well as all of NBC’s shows is to check out NBC Rewind.

NBC Rewind is the place you can go to find almost all your favorite (or soon to be favorite in the case of FNL) NBC shows in their entirety after they’ve aired…for free!! Catch up on shows like MY NAME IS EARL, 30 ROCK, or the sadly departed BLACK DONNELLYS. And if you want to know what who the heck the cheerleader is and why we need to save her to save the world, then get caught up on this season’s most talked about new show HEROES and get episode commentary from the cast. So no hesitating people, head over to NBC Rewind right this instant (yeah, even if you are at work or at school) and start watching.

Need a little incentive? How about if I send you a Friday Night Lights script signed by the entire cast? Yup, I’m that awesome. All you need to do is email me the answer to the following question:

In the pilot episode, at what venue is the Panther Pep Rally held?

Email me your answers at: info(at)givememyremote(dot)com. A winner will be chosen at random from all correct entries. The contest ends on June 6, 2007.

Holy hell, the bitchfest has gone to NEW levels today.  Rosie and Elizabeth went CRAZY on today’s THE VIEW.  I mean it got all kinds of nasty and crazy personal.  This was raw. I’m not here to defend either side other than to say WOW…just WOW! You just have to watch for yourself.

Rashida Jones & I Find Peace

Rashida Jones

Oh me an my witty titles. But this one is true…kinda.

Last night I was honored to volunteer at Peace Rocks, a charity benefit here in Boston to support Peace Games. Peace Games is an organization that empowers students to create their own safe classrooms and communities by forming partnerships with elementary schools, families and young adult volunteer. Last night’s charity event helped to raise money for the organization and spread the word of their important mission. The event was a lot of fun, and I certainly made a fool of myself dancing around to the music of the house band and the legendary hip hop artist Darryl “DMC” McDaniels of Run DMC.

While other volunteers were asked to man the live auction and register guests, I was lucky enough to be assigned to taking care of the needs of those in the VIP area. Not too bad. And lucky for me, the VIP guests were Rashida Jones of “The Office” and the upcoming “Rules of Starting Over” and the hysterical Donal Logue from the ill-fated “Knights of Prosperity”. Both Rashida and Donal have been serving on the Board of Directors for Peace Games for the past few years and were kind enough to attend last night’s event.

Ok, so I know you want the good stuff. Just what was Rashida Jones like? Well, she was absolutely fantastic. First of all the woman is gorgeous. But more importantly she was just really cool and very sweet. Once she got settled in, I grabbed her a drink and she introduced herself to me (oh I know who you are Rashida…LOL). We chatted for a few minutes and I let her know that we met for a nano-second while I was on the set of “The Office”. I mentioned GMMR and she knew all about it…bizarre!! It took all of my strength not to pull her aside and just talk “Office” all night, but that’s not what either she or I were there for. But throughout the night I got her drinks, escorted her to the bathroom…that type of thing. And at the end of the night it was my job to make sure she and Donal Logue made it to the after party, so we got to hang on a shuttle bus and chat a bit as we made our way to the Hard Rock Boston. Oh the glamorous life I lead. Ha ha!!

As I was getting ready to head home I said my goodbye to Rashida. She gave me a warm hug and we talked about doing a little one-on-one interview when we get closer to the premiere of “Rules of Starting Over”. And yes, I finally asked her about “The Office”. She didn’t say anything that I can share here, but I got some interesting gossip that I will share in due time. We did talk about the final two episodes, and the fact that she assumed everyone hated Karen since she called Pam a bitch. HA! I let her know that people were more concerned whether or not Karen and Jim broke up or did he just ditch her in NYC before running back to Scranton to Pam. I will say this…we will get an answer.

So Rashida Jones was pretty damn fabulous. And I did feel guilty for all my Karen-bashing earlier in the season. Sorry Fillipelli. And I know you are going to ask so NO, I didn’t ask her about her rumored romance with my TV boyfriend John Krasinski (give me a little credit). Who knows if they are together or not, but I will say this…if they are, then that guy is pretty damn lucky.

VERONICA MARS Series Finale

Much like Miss Mars herself, my life has been keeping me pretty busy these days.  With the work I have to do today before heading out to a charity event tonight, I think this is going to have to be the last post of the day (well at least until I get home late tonight).  I thought I would post this now so VERONICA MARS fans can chat about tonight’s SERIES finale before and after the show.  I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Part 1 spoilers
Someone secretly passed along the script for Part 1 (“Weevil’s Wobble But They Don’t Go Down”) of tonight’s 2 episode series finale of VERONICA MARS. Please let me be the first to say that it’s 100% possible that the script has changed since I first received it months ago. But in case it hasn’t, here’s a few tidbits to get you excited for tonight.

24 Season Finale Recap: Day 6, 4:00am – 6:00am

ask that you rise and give LaLa a nice round of applause for being GiveMeMyRemote.com’s resident 24 recapper. It’s a tough job, and LaLa took it on without missing a day. So let’s show LaLa the love (via the comments) and let her know how much we will miss her brilliant recaps.

Title: “Day 6, 4:00am – 5:00am & 5:00am – 6:00am
Original Airdate: 5/21/07
GMMR Recapper: LaLa

Well, there you have it Ladies and Gentlemen, the season finale of 24. Many significant things happened in this episode – some awesome, some not so much. I’ll start with the awesome: Ok, so I think my favorite part of the episode was probably Josh grabbing that wrench, slamming his evil grandfather on the head with said wrench, then grabbing a gun and SHOOTING Daddy Bauer in the gut!! Whoa!! Talk about spunk! Hands down, Josh is the most awesome young person 24 has ever had on the show – which again, reeeeaaaally makes me wonder if he is, in fact, Jack’s son. I mean, there’s no way that a kid that awesome could be the spawn of Hysterical Marilyn and Evil Graem Bauer. Yeah, he’s just gotta be Jack’s son, because he totally takes after Jack. Here’s hoping we see Josh again sometime in the future – without his hysterical mother, of course.

The other most awesome thing that happened this episode – ah heck, it’s tied with Josh’s bravery for me – was the most triumphant return of my man Bill Buchanon, who somehow managed to hugely help Jack save the day AND not get killed or injured!! With lines to Jack like, “You don’t have to thank me” and “I’d never forgive myself if I didn’t help you”, Bill proved once again that he RULES. You go, Bill – I salute you, sir. And I also salute his wife Karen, because even though she fired awesome Bill, she managed to redeem herself by illegally helping him rescue Jack from – yep, you guessed it – CTU custody. So I say, you go Karen – way to do the right thing.

VERONICA MARS Series Finale…I’m Not Ready

VERONICA MARS Series Finale…I’m Not Ready

I can’t do it…I can’t say goodbye to VERONICA MARS tonight. It’s not right. It’s too soon. She has to much left to do in this world. Please don’t go Veronica…PLEASE!! Stay with us.

Sadly Veronica’s fate has been decided and no amount of internet pleading or skywriting will save our girl this time. Tonight’s back-to-back 2 episode season finale is her curtain call. After that who knows when we see Veronica, Keith, Logan, Wallace, Mac, Dick, Piz (ok he’ll be on “Private Practice” in the fall) or any other the other Neptunites…Neptuians(?) again?

A few months ago a secret spy slipped me the script for tonight’s first episode (“Weevils Wobble But They Don’t Go Down”). Had I known this was going to be the second to last episode I would not have read it. But at least I can tell you it’s a fantastic ep. One that will lead into what should be a shocking series finale.

Besides the inevitable disappointment that the end of this quality show will naturally bring, I’m actually bummed even more so since creator Rob Thomas is on the record as saying he didn’t write tonight’s show (“The Bitch is Back”) as a series finale, but rather a season finale. Could we be left with unresolved storylines and mysteries? And what about LoVe? Will be left with no LoVe (as the promos imply). Ugh, I can’t even think about it yet.

I’m delaying my friend until tomorrow morning as I won’t be home to watch the show live as it airs tonight. I’ll be sure to open a post for the finale so you all can leave comments and grieve together.

Oh and GiveMeMyRemote.com is going to have a LOT of Veronica Mars stuff today…so be warned!!

“Weevils Wobble But They Don’t Go Down”
8/7c on The CW
Weevil hires Veronica after he is accused of making fake student debit cards and using them to commit fraud; Wallace is stalked by a male student; Piz interviews Keith and Vinnie about the upcoming sheriff’s election on his radio show.

“The Bitch is Back”
9/8c on The CW
The third season concludes with Veronica investigating the origin of a sex tape that features her with Piz. Veronica tries to keep Keith from finding out about the tape and she learns that a person from her past may be involved.

“A long time ago, we used to be friends”

The Bachelor Season Finale Spoilers

Well another season of THE BACHELOR is over.  I can’t believe that I actually stuck with it the entire season, but I did. Believe me, I’m more shocked than you.  But there was something about the “amazing” Andy Baldwin and his “amazing” lust for life on his “amazing” search for love, that I found well, “amazing”.  Ok, maybe I’m being a bit sarcastic here, but for whatever reason Andy his lady loves kept me watching right up through tonight’s finale, so there had to be something “amazing” there.

So just who was it that captured Dr. Lt. Andy Baldwin’s heart and the coveted final rose?  Continue on after the jump for the most most exciting rose ceremony reveal ever.

BETTY, LOST, BROS & SIS Catch Up

May 21, 2007 by
Filed under Brothers & Sisters, Lost, Ugly Betty

Being in New York for a few days really threw off my TV watching schedule. I had to avoid family, friends and promos just so I could avoid being spoiled for some of my favorite shows.  Well, I’m all caught up and feel that all is right in the world again. So here’s my two cents on this past week’s episodes of BROTHERS & SISTERS, LOST and UGLY BETTY.

Brothers and Sisters Season Finale

Brothers & Sisters – I’m not sure I could love this show any more than I already do.  I caught up last night one the past two episodes, and my god if I wasn’t left in the fetal position crying my eyes out.  Only one baby making it?  And my god, Justin leaving for Iraq?  Greg Berlanti has always known how to get me crying, but last night was insane. I love the Walker family and enjoy how truly screwed up they are.  Best family on TV, hands down. In true Walker fashion, I needed some booze after watching those two episodes.

Lost

Lost – Yikes!  I didn’t realize that I had missed so much over the past two weeks.  I’ve always been a casual LOST fan.  Love the show, and I’ve seen every episode but I’ve never been a die hard, check out the message boards, fan.  That being said, I think the past two weeks were phenomenal. Ok, I didn’t really love the “invisible Jacob” plot, but it was still interesting to watch all the same. I really have no idea what to expect from the finale.  Is Locke alive? Will Charlie live (I hope so, he’s been fantastic these past few episodes)?  Will the Losties overtake The Others?  Smackdown of the century….game on!!  Looking forward to the season finale this week.

P.S. Remember when Charlie saved the woman in the alley from being mugged?  Did anyone else catch that the woman was Sayid’s Nadia?  Yup.  Crazy!

It’s kind of depressing to realize that after this week all my favorite shows will officially be on hiatus for the next few months. Thank goodness that some of the new summer programming looks so promising. I’ve been flooded with DVDs of the screeners for the summer shows (seriously I can’t even see my dining room table) and I’ll be sure to let you know soon what I’ll be watching this summer.

MeeVee Recommends24 – Season Finale
Day 6: 4:00 A.M. – 6:00 A.M.
The sixth season concludes with a big two-hour episode. Cut off from Josh, Bauer fights to thwart a Russian attack on a U.S. base in central Asia. As long as the bomb doesn’t go off in a commercial break, everything should be alright.

MeeVee RecommendsHeroes – Season Finale
In the first season finale, the heroes all converge in New York for the big bang. Peter and Sylar face off; which of them will explode? Who will survive? Will the cheerleader save the world?

MeeVee RecommendsThe Bachelor – Season Finale
The season ends with Andy choosing his bride-to-be after taking Bevin and Tessa to meet his family in Pennsylvania, and to Hawaii for final dates.

Isaiah Washington NOT Gone from GREY’S

May 20, 2007 by

Isaiah Washington NOT Gone from GREY’SThursday’s season finale of GREY’S ANATOMY saw Christina Yang (Sandra Oh) returning to her home only to find that her not so soon to be groom, Preston Burke (Isaiah Washington) had moved out. All of his stuff was gone. But the real question remained…was he gone for good? And was Washington gone from Grey’s Anatomy for ever?

I’m not sure if you remember, but Washington was involved in this quiet, not much talked about incident where he called co-star T.R. Knight an ugly gay slur. At the time there was a strong public demand for Washington to be let go from the show, but it never happened. The only consequence seemed to be a VERY short stint in rehab (I guess there’s a rehab for everything these days), and Washington’s agreement to do some ads for GLAAD. But with Thursday’s finale, some were questioning whether or not Washington had finally faced the music. But sadly, that’s not true.

According to his spokesman, Howard Bragman, Washington will still be on Grey’s next season, “We fully expect to be back in the fall. The deal’s not done but we have no reason to believe he won’t be putting on the scrubs.”

So for those of us who were excited about the prospect of never seeing Isaiah Washington again, well, it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. Seems like some levels of hatred are still acceptable.

Update on Jenna Fischer’s Back Injury

May 18, 2007 by

After fracturing her back on Monday night, it seems that Jenna Fischer is doing ok.  Her husband, James Gunn, just issued this note to fans via his friends at MySpace.

Jenna FischerJenna is in some pain, but she’s doing okay. There is no permanent damage, thank God, but she fractured her back in 4 places. She will be okay in time to shoot the new season of the Office, and she just got done shooting Walk Hard. So, as far as good times for breaking your back, now is it.

We’re very very appreciative of all the fan support. The notes are very nice.

A few people have inquired about sending care packages, etc. Please don’t! We are overwhelmed with flowers, snacks, gifts, and just plain stuff! We definitely don’t need anything else.

If people really want to do something, just make a small donation to Rover Rescue in Jenna’s name. Some people have already done this and it’s really appreciated!

Thanks to Linda at JGAS for passing this along.
