Tonight’s TV Spotlight…Monday, January 5, 2009

January 5, 2009 by

Ready to go back to work/school/normal life?  Yeah me neither.  Just make it through the day and come home to a plethora of Monday night TV. Lots to choose from, so choose wisely.  And by all means let me know…what will YOU be watching tonight?

The Bachelor | 8pm on ABC
Season Premiere
Jason Mesnick, a 32-year-old single father rejected on “The Bachelorette,” begins his search for love anew with 25 bachelorettes, including four single mothers. [GMMR: This will be the 17th season of ‘The Bachelor’ (including ‘The Bachelorette’) and of the 16 previous tries at love just one got married. Just one. Are we really supposed to believe that the contestants are in this for the long haul? More like for their 15 minutes. Will you be watching?]

Gossip Girl | 8pm on The CW
“In the Realm of the Basses”
Uncle Jack Bass (Desmond Harrington) arrives in town to try and help Chuck pick up the pieces; Blair tries to get accepted into Colony Club, the most prestigious ladies club in the city; Jenny returns to Constance Billard. [GMMR: Check back soon for a more on tonight’s return of ‘Gossip Girl’ XOXO]

The Secret Life of the American Teenager | 8pm on ABC Family
“The Secret Wedding of the American Teenager”
After being informed that she will need to find a job to support her baby, Amy and Ben decide to get married. Meanwhile Annie informs George that she wants a divorce and George moves into their garage to save money.  Ricky continues to seek out a relationship with Gracie. [GMMR: I find it funny that this show is up against ‘Gossip Girl’. It’s like someone is trying to save the souls of ‘Gossip Girl’ watchers by providing this respectable alternative.  I think you know what wins out for me.

One Tree Hill| 9pm on The CW
“Things a Mama Don’t Know”
Peyton receives some startling news that she must share with Lucas who, while still in LA, discovers that Julian has been keeping another secret regarding the movie. Nathan struggles in a new professional environment, and Brooke’s search for runaway Sam forces her to confront her own feelings about the night of her attack.

Also playing…

  • Superstars of Dance | 8pm on NBC: The second night premiere features more international dancers.
  • Rita Rocks | 8:30pm on Lifetime: Patty comes to the rescue when Rita has a bad cold and can barely get out of bed.
  • Jon & Kate Plus 8 | 9pm on TLC: Trying to save time and money, Kate plans to make lots of soup to freeze for the upcoming winter season, but the day doesn’t quite go as she expected.
  • True Beauty | 10pm on ABC: Ten gorgeous people compete to find out who is the most beautiful. But inner beauty counts as much as physical attractiveness.

GMMR’s Useless Tidbit of the Day…

“The only bone never to have been broken in a ski accident is one located in the inner ear.”
