Emily Deschanel and Hart Hanson Talk BONES - Give Me My Remote : Give Me My Remote

Emily Deschanel and Hart Hanson Talk BONES

First of all…spoiler alert. Don’t even read on if you don’t like the sweet smell of spoilers. Or is the spoiled smell of sweetness? Hard to say. But seriously…we’re talking the next two episodes of BONES (“The Boy with the Answer” and “The Beginning in the End”, respectively, airing on FOX May 13th and May 20th).

Quick note, for those reading this but not clicking the link ahead: Hart Hanson and Emily Deschanel are amazing together. It’s clear they are very fond of one another. Not a secret, or a scoop or anything, but still worth mentioning.

I’m pleased that I was able to ask two questions. And here we go…

In the season four finale, it was hinted that Max and Jared were both connected with the Gravedigger. Ryan O’Neal (Max) is guest starting in this episode, but is he really only there for moral support like the Fox promo indicated? Max always has his hands both on the side of good and the side of…not so good.

HH: What do you think, Emily? I would say he’s not just there for moral support.

ED: Yeah, I think that’s accurate.

HH: It’s a bit more than that. He’s a mysterious, multifaceted character, Max is. He is not an onlooker at heart.

ED (laughs): No, never an onlooker.

HH: I really don’t want to say more than that, but that’s a good question.

2. At the beginning of the season six premiere, will Booth and Brennan both be in Washington DC?

HH: I’m not going to answer that. (laughs). We will NOT start season six without Booth and Brennan working together. I’m not willing to say that they’ll be in DC. I’m not willing to say they WON’T be!

ED: (laughs) Which just means he hasn’t written it yet!

HH: Anytime I give any amount of spoilers, I get hollered at by people who invent their own story off of what I say, and they YELL at me, as if I came up with the story! So (laughs), I’m gun shy, but there…there’s my answer.

In other news…

Hart told us that they haven’t given up on the “Brennan wants a baby” storyline, but that he still finds it so intriguing that Brennan’s desire for a baby waned once it seemed Booth wasn’t really a viable option.

Both he and Emily Deschanel reiterated that this season finale will change the course of the show as much as the 100th episode did. They also said that the Gravedigger episode (“The Boy with the Answer”) will introduce a new nemesis for the team.

Possibly the most interesting is that Emily revealed that Brennan may begin to really question “her field…solving murders. It’s crazy that she’s even thinking about that, because it (anthropology) is something she has chosen to escape into”. This question was in regard to her character development, and she went on to state, “I think it’s mainly because of her relationship with Booth.”

Whether it’s the stress of this GraveDigger case or the “unique opportunities” she and Booth are presented with in the season finale that cause that questioning remains to be seen. I can’t wait.

What also pleased me personally was that when asked about Hodgins and Angela finding closure, HH revealed that he’s had their rehashing of their break up dialogue written since the time they actually broke up in the season four premiere. He also mentioned that he’s always known Hodgins and Angela have been meant to be together. I don’t know about you, but that gives me hope for B&B.

He said, “I have a group of scenes, written on my computer”. Emily joked that maybe someone should try to hack into it and see what he has planned. I’m still willing to wait! But not TOO long, haha!

I hope you’ll join us on Thursday for our weekly BONES chat. Talk to you then.

She must not be questioning her field too seriously if they introduce a new recurring nemesis, right? Somebody’s gotta solve those murders! I really hope they leave the show set in DC. How could they possibly move to another location and still keep all the same characters? Whole groups of people don’t usually all quit their jobs and start over fresh together. Anywho…it’ll be interesting to see what ends up happening. I can’t wait!

Thanks again for sharing the conference call with us! Also, thanks for asking such good questions! I always think that interviews with Hart and Emily are cute and fun. It seems like they have a really great relationship, too. I’m definitely intrigued by all of the possibilities going into next week’s finale… I think I’ve decided that I’m equally nervous and excited… However, like you said, it’s comforting to know that HH had the whole Hodgins/Angela thing planned clearly from the very beginning. That gives me hope…
