James Corden has made a (delightful) habit of revisiting his guests’ past work when they come to visit him on THE LATE LATE SHOW. And so when SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE judge Paula Abdul was a guest on Corden’s show, the duo “remade” Abdul’s 1989 video for her hit song, “Opposites Attract”…and Corden got to play MC Skat Kat. (Oh, yes.)

Michael Chiklis is heading to GOTHAM, a rep for the show has confirmed.

Chiklis — who will be a series regular — will play Captain Nathaniel Barnes in the show’s upcoming second season.

“[Barnes] lands on the GCPD like a tornado, ripping out the dead wood of Gotham’s police force,” the GOTHAM producers told TVLine, which was first to report Chiklis’ casting. “He is a law and order zealot; unafraid of making enemies – on either side of the law. For Gordon (Ben McKenzie), Barnes is a hero and a mentor, someone with whom he can share the burden of heroism. Captain Barnes proves himself to be a strong ally to Gordon… but one day he will make an equally powerful enemy.”

ZOO took a big step at the end of the last episode as the series brought its five leads together to tackle the changes in animal behavior as a cohesive group.

But the humans won’t be the only ones teaming up — soon, the animals will start to communicate with each other in new ways.

“It’s subtle when it starts to happen and it’s very cool,” ZOO star James Wolk (Jackson) told reporters at Comic-Con.

LUCIFER Showrunner Joe Henderson on Joining the Series

Comments Off on LUCIFER Showrunner Joe Henderson on Joining the Series

LUCIFER is the latest DC Comics character — from THE SANDMAN comic and its spinoff, LUCIFER — to be adapted for television. (And LUCIFER is getting a prime slot on the schedule: the series will air Mondays on Fox in early 2016, paired with THE X-FILES’ return.)

But unlike the other DC shows currently on television, LUCIFER is focused on, well, a villain. And though the Devil is on Earth in LUCIFER (having abandoned Hell for Los Angeles), on paper, he’s a more complicated character to translate to network television than many others.

And for new LUCIFER showrunner Joe Henderson — who joined the show, officially, after the pilot was completed — he’s now tasked with setting the course the show takes.

“It’s a rare situation,” Henderson told reporters at Comic-Con.  “I loved the pilot, so my whole challenge was wrapping my brain around what worked so well about it, and taking a bit of ownership about the questions of where [the show goes]. Because I also read the comic…before even getting the job. So I knew the character, I loved the character. I loved this version of the character, who is very similar to both, but very much his own [being].”

GOTHAM: Ben McKenzie on the Threat of Barbara

GOTHAM season 2 will pit Jim Gordon up against, arguably, his most dangerous foe: his ex-fiancée, Barbara.

Earlier in the series, it seemed like Jim and Barbara were set to follow their comics counterparts: marriage, and perhaps a child. (And likely a divorce.) But with Barbara snapping after her encounter with the Ogre at the end of season 1 — and her subsequent murder of her parents, plus attack on Jim’s new girlfriend, Leslie — the show has firmly deviated from the comics.

“He will deal with her gingerly, with great care,” GOTHAM star Ben McKenzie (Jim) told reporters at Comic-Con. “She’s the closest person [to him] that has gone full-on bad guy…and that doesn’t go away; she doesn’t get less crazy as we go into season 2….[and] when she is that personally invested in destroying him, specifically, and knows him better than anyone, what is she willing to do to get what she wants? Having a psycho ex-girlfriend is scary.”

Check out what else McKenzie told reporters…

MINORITY REPORT — a continuation of the 2002 Tom Cruise-led film; in the Fox show, a cop (Meagan Good) teams up with a precog, Dash (Stark Sands), who is able to see the future, to prevent crimes — is expanding its world.

The series added  Nick Zano as a new series regular late last month — he’ll play Arthur, the fraternal twin brother of Dash — and at Comic-Con, executive producer Max Borenstein gushed to reporters about the opportunity to do a deep-dive into the twins’ lives.

“The exciting thing for us was being able to say, now we get to explore both of these characters,” Borenstein told reporters in the video below. “Their powers are literally different, and we want to [explore how] it affects them become different people. Dash is haunted by the visions he gets…whereas Arthur gets the names, almost a factual [download].”

Borenstein added that due to Dash’s visions, he would, essentially be “an open wound” and the connection drives him to try and stop the crimes — whereas Arthur is able to keep things at a distance since he’s dealing with more of the factual information.

Check out what else Borenstein had to say…

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is visiting THE MINDY PROJECT for the show’s fourth season premiere, a rep for the show has confirmed.

Gordon-Levitt (who teamed up with MINDY PROJECT stars Mindy Kaling and Chris Messina for the second season premiere of his Pivot show, HIT RECORD) will appear in a SLIDING DOORS-inspired episode. According to Buzzfeed (which was first to report the casting), in this new world, Mindy is no longer with Danny Castellano —  instead she’s married to Matt (Gordon-Levitt), a “suave reality show producer for Bravo — aka the ideal profession for Mindy’s man.”
