LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT showcases a different side of domestic violence on the Thursday, May 27 hour, “What Can Happen in the Dark.”

“This is an interesting case of gender reversal in a domestic violence situation,” SVU showrunner Warren Leight previously teased. “Usually, when men are accused of a crime in our SVU universe, they’ll get a female attorney to represent them, because it sort of softens them to the jury…So we wondered what would happen in a situation where a woman is accused of certain things. And we thought the smart move for her would be to get a likable male attorney.”
