MAGNUM PI season 5

“Texas Wedge” – Magnum, Higgins and Rick go undercover at an exclusive, high-end country club when a young caddie is fired and accused of stealing a member’s golf clubs. Also, Jin’s (Bobby Lee) deaf niece (Kaylee Hottle), unaware of her uncle’s shady past, asks him to speak at her school, on the CBS original series MAGNUM P.I., Friday, Oct 15 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network and available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+. Kate Flannery guest stars as a country club member with eyes for Rick. MAGNUM P.I. may find life after CBS: Deadline is reporting USA Network and NBC are currently discussing the possibility of reviving the series, which is co-produced by Universal TV. (A rep for NBCU had no comment.)

According to Deadline, one of the options being floated is for new episodes of the Jay Hernandez-led series to run on NBC, with USA getting syndicated rights to the previous seasons.

MAGNUM P.I., a reboot of the Tom Selleck series by the same name, followed “Thomas Magnum, a decorated former Navy SEAL who, upon returning home from Afghanistan, repurposes his military skills to become a private investigator.” The drama also starred Perdita Weeks, Zachary Knighton, Stephen Hill, Tim Kang, and Amy Hill.

The series was canceled on May 12, days after its fourth season finale aired.

An important note: NBC has saved NBCU/Universal TV shows in the past (notably BROOKLYN NINE-NINE after its Fox cancellation), but it is still rare.
