“Taxman” – Rookie agent Ray Cannon (new series regular Edwin Hodge) joins the Fugitive Task Force as they hunt down a mysterious killer targeting IRS offices, on the CBS Original series FBI: MOST WANTED, Tuesday, Sept. 27 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+. The FBI: MOST WANTED team expands on the Tuesday, September 27 hour, “Taxman,” as Ray Cannon (Edwin Hodge) joins the Fugitive Task Force.

“Ray’s a former cop from New Orleans whose father was in the Bureau for 36 years,” MOST WANTED showrunner David Hudgins teased to Give Me My Remote via email. “There’s a Katrina backstory with his family that we’ll explore in an episode. As the rookie of the squad, Ray has to prove himself.”

“The challenge for him is ‘street policing’ in New Orleans is very different from chasing fugitives with the FBI,” he continued. “He’ll have to adapt and find his way. That said, Edwin Hodge, who plays him, lights up the show every time he comes on screen. Edwin’s a great actor and we love Ray’s energy and humor.”

Though the FTF has gone through a number of changes over the show’s four seasons, this marks a turning point for still-new FTF boss Remy (Dylan McDermott).

“The hiring of Ray is a bit of a statement from Remy,” Hudgins noted. “It’s his first chance to shape the members on his team and he brings in a rookie on purpose—so he can mold him in his own image. The rest of the team welcomes Ray, but there is also a prevailing feeling of he has to earn his place on the squad.”

As the group learns to work together, they’ll have to do so while tracking down the usual batch of dangerous fugitives. “We’ll be taking on topical stories as we always do—gun violence, familial sex trafficking, cryptocurrency, and false flag conspiracy theorists, to name a few,” Hudgins previewed. “There’s also a really fun episode where we dive into the world of amateur treasure hunters that has one of my favorite endings.”

FBI: MOST WANTED, Tuesdays, 10/9c, CBS
