NBC has set an air date for Kelli Giddish’s final appearance as a regular on LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT—Thursday, December 8.

“I already know how we’re going to say goodbye (for now) to her,” LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT boss David Graziano previously wrote on Instagram. “It will be an honest exploration of sisterhood, chosen family, redemption and hope – with a storyline tailor made for our two female powerhouses. Love will prevail for Rollisi, because I’m a romantic like that 🤓”

Giddish joined SVU as Detective Amanda Rollins in 2011. “Playing Rollins has been one of the greatest joys and privileges of my life,” she said in a statement when news of her exit broke. “I’ve been so fortunate to be a part of the LAW & ORDER family for the last 12 years. There is simply no other character on TV like Rollins. She’s grown and changed, and I have as well. I started on this show when I was in my late 20s and I’m grateful I got to spend so many of my adult years with Rollins in my life.”

But before Giddish signs off in December, she’ll also appear in an upcoming episode of LAW & ORDER: ORGANIZED CRIME. (Update, 10/13: Giddish will appear in the October 27 episode.) This will technically mark her second appearance on the SVU spinoff, after appearing in the season-opening three-part crossover event. (Giddish was previously set to appear in an OC season 2 episode, but plans changed.)

Update, 10/17: NBC released an official logline for the ORGANIZED CRIME hour Giddish will appear in: “While Stabler is called to testify against the Brotherhood in court, the task force sets their sights on a dangerous criminal gang posing as police. Reyes finds a surprising connection to the suspects they’re after. Bell receives some unwelcome news.” (Update, 10/19: The episode is called “Behind Blue Eyes.”)

Love this show but will boycott when Kelli leaves. Unbelievable choice by producers!

Please tell us why you decided to dismiss Kelli Giddish from the show. She has always been a wonderful addition to the show and I hope she has a new show coming up and that she is looking forward to it. I think she always added a bit of spice to some of the episodes and now thet she was suppose to get married, I guess we won’t see her happy either.
Oh well, we loose as usual.
