Let’s talk about Wednesday night’s TV!

CHICAGO MED: Man, that A.I. penalizing a woman because of her history and them almost missing a serious (but treatable) illness is scary as hell. And Hannah putting herself in and seeing her history had basically red-flagged her already? Depressing. Obviously there are merits to being warned, but recovery can change people. It’ll be a scary ethical thing for the real robots (and doctors) to have to contend with going forward.

I really, truly, hope Archer’s kid is on the up-and-up, because it’s so clear Dean wants things to go well.

As always, will someone please give Maggie a freaking hug?? I’m glad she finally talked to Will, though.

LINGO: I’m sorry, Mike and Jordan were not good game players and it’s insane they got to the final showdown. I know the show had to change from the old-school LINGO format—and, yes, I’m someone who used to watch it on Game Show Network a lot as a kid—but I’m not sure I like the game changes, either. Changing it to six (or ten) letter words is an entirely different mindset.

CHICAGO FIRE: Bye bye, Emma!!! And how fitting Hawkins was the person who ended up giving them the proof they needed, even from beyond.

Cindy having lung cancer…no, thank you. I assume this will not end tragically, because WE JUST LOST HAWKINS, and I’m sure David Eigenberg and Robyn Coffin will do incredible work. But my heart can’t take this. (And Eigenberg in particular was stunning in those quiet final moments, when he finally stopped trying to tell the doctor it couldn’t be cancer.)

CHICAGO P.D.: LaRoyce. Freaking. Hawkins.

Hawkins has long done incredible work on the show—and his previous showcase episode in season 10 was an absolute highlight—but Atwater reuniting with his father was next-level. We got excellence as Atwater tried to get a grasp on his own emotions, plus the quiet conversation with Burgess (who acknowledged how little she knew about her friend’s father, despite knowing each other for a decade) and the tense interactions with his dad himself.

The final blowup as Atwater finally demanded answers, including why his father never allowed him to visit him in prison was absolutely heartbreaking. I can understand where his dad was coming from, but Atwater deserved better. And he deserves better now. If his dad ends up living in the building Kevin owns, I hope the Atwater men can find some element of peace.
