About Last Night…BEAT SHAZAM, AMERICA’S GOT TALENT, and DON’T FORGET THE LYRICS

Let’s talk about Monday night’s TV!

BEAT SHAZAM: Man, that final round was hard AND painful to watch. Getting every single one wrong?? Ouch. (Though one contestant giving the wrong song title and the other giving the right title, but them having to go with the wrong one since it was said first…painful.) But! At least they got “Cloud Nine” right in the very last question and doubled their money.

AMERICA’S GOT TALENT: Oh, I hated Sunny’s act. I get it’s a certain kind of act, but also…how is this going to work now that the shtick is revealed and people are expecting it?

I enjoyed Noodle and Bun, but wonder how it would translate as a Vegas act. If part of the shtick was it being animated so it appeared on stage on TV—but it wasn’t quite that for the people watching the audition—how will that translate live?

There were a lot of singers in the episode, but Gabriel Henrique’s audition was jaw-dropping and well worth Sofia’s Golden Buzzer.

DON’T FORGET THE LYRICS: I knew the “American Idiot” lyric, but that was a tough lyric for something that was under $25,000!

Oh man, the poor second contestant who was smart to walk away when she wasn’t confident…but then realized if she had risked it, she would have gotten that guaranteed $25,000. That has to be haunting. Honestly, I figured it would be a lackluster episode (given it was paired with a subpar BEAT SHAZAM), but didn’t see it being less-great for that reason.
