About Last Night…BEAT SHAZAM, AMERICA’S GOT TALENT, and DON’T FORGET THE LYRICS

Let’s talk about Tuesday night’s TV!

BEAT SHAZAM: Sorry to Mr. Bieber, I had no clue what “Ghost” was called. ( Though the team not getting “You Oughta Know” killed me a little.) Glad they got the final song, though!

AMERICA’S GOT TALENT: Okay, I’m still unable to hear “Carry on My Wayward Son” without thinking of SUPERNATURAL.

It’s a bummer when the judges give Xs to the acts they brought to the live rounds if they’re simply doing what they did the first go-round. As it is, most of these acts won’t go through, just let them be unless they’re offensively bad.

Murmuration was far and away the best act. Wasn’t even close, shouldn’t be in doubt, if they don’t make it through, it’s a travesty.

As for that second spot? It’s hard. Ahren Belisle was funny. Three G was impressive, but also very visibly shaking. Chioma & the Atlanta Drum Academy were fun and had good energy, but I don’t know if it’ll be enough, despite their Golden Buzzer history. It’s going to be a tough battle.

DON’T FORGET THE LYRICS: Ouch, this was a painful game. The first contestant was so sure and wasted valuable clues on lyrics she had. Then the second contestant went home with nothing. (I don’t blame the latter for risking it, at that point, but ouch.)
