AMERICA'S GOT TALENT and MASTERCHEF

MASTERCHEF: L-R: Judges Joe Bastianich and Aarón Sánchez with host/judge Gordon Ramsay in the “Patio Grilling / The “Wall” episodes of MASTERCHEF airing Wednesday, September 6 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT).

Let’s talk about Wednesday night’s TV!

AMERICA’S GOT TALENT: That meme gag was uncomfortably long. I get they need to kill time in the results shows, but my goodness, no.

I am not upset about the acts that went through, but…yeah, very predictable. And I honestly don’t know if I’d even say they were the best of the night. But such is this dumb format.

MASTERCHEF: The first episode was fine, but pretty forgettable. (Sorry to MD, who was  eliminated; it’s nothing against her.) But the wall competition was insane. (It always is, but eesh.)

Wayne made the teams with the intent to cause mayhem, but it didn’t go wrong in the ways I expected. All in all, most of them did okay…but I’m still baffled why Wayne revealed they fucked up the sauce initially? The team should have seen what they could do and maybe pivoted more gracefully.

As it all shook out, I felt awful for Brynn, who probably would have been safe if Kolby’s salmon cook hadn’t gotten so messed up. I understand, on paper, everyone succeeds or fails as a team, but there’s only so much you can do.
