NEXT LEVEL CHEF and GHOSTS

“Halloween 3: The Guest Who Wouldn’t Leave” – Pete’s ex-wife, Carol (Caroline Aaron), shows up at Woodstone Mansion during Sam and Jay’s Halloween party, where they’re trying to impress some cool friends (John Reynolds and Christine Ko). Also, the ghosts hope to bring Flower back with a seance, on the CBS Original series GHOSTS, Thursday, March 7 (8:30-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*. Let’s talk about Thursday night’s TV!

NEXT LEVEL CHEF: Wow, Zach’s dish was great. The only downside to him getting that distinction is that it made Angela safe, too. (No, I’m not going to forget she shoved another contestant.) But overall, impressive performance by all of the cooks, because I had no clue who would be fighting for their show lives…and crazy that they had to grab things off the platform while it kept moving. It was really hard to build a dish when you were just trying to scramble for anything multiple times.

And, honestly, yikes to Alexandra. I didn’t have an issue with her until she made the snippy “only here for YouTube views” comment about Jordan. This many weeks in, if he didn’t have legit skills, he would have been easily gone. Come on. Made it really easy to root for her to not make it through.

GHOSTS: Oh my GOD.

Look, they got me. I always believed Flower would come back, but I figured they’d bring her back from being sucked off. (And while with any other character that might lead to some BUFFY season 6-levels of depression, Flower could have hypothetically been a quasi-blank slate because she can/does forget things at times.) But NOPE. She’s been there the whole time.

And, of course, that brings up the question of who did get sucked off? And when will the ghosts find Flower? But right now I’m tickled at that twist.

There’s also the issue of Carol being a ghost. I’m sure she’s not sticking around forever, but how miserable is she going to make Pete in the meantime? And what will it take for her to move on? Will it be closure with Pete?
