gmmr_icon_myspace.pngWe’ve got some great stuff to talk about, so make sure you stop by GMMR this weekend. Here’s a little taste of just some of the things we’ll be talking about:

A Bluth family member is heading back to TV and I’ve got the scoop….

Speaking of the Bluths (well almost) David Cross recently sat down for a little one on one with Suchin Park. As you guessed hilarity ensued…

Veronica Mars fans – I’ve got the scoop on the next episode. I’m not easily bribed but…who am I kidding, let the bribing begin…

A big HOLLA goes out to the ladies at PopSugar for posting the first known pics of The Office’s John Krasinski from his upcoming movie Leatherheads. Yes, I know the pics are only from the back, but I would know those ears anywhere. YAY!! Make sure you head over to PopSugar for more pics of George Clooney and Renee Zelleweger from the set.

John Krasinski, Leatherheads pic

For those of you who aren’t in the know, here the 411 on Leatherheads:

Written by Steven Schiff and Clooney, the story centers on team owner Jimmy “Dodge” Connelly (Clooney), who hires straight-laced college football sensation Carter Rutherford (to be played by Krasinski) to play professionally. The scandalous sport becomes popular and commercialized, and confirmed bachelor Dodge falls for Carter’s reluctant fiancee, Lexi (Zellweger).

Jordan Knight Welcomes SonI’m kind of busy today, but I had to take a quick minute to send my congrats out to Jordan Knight and his wife Evelyn on the birth of their son, Eric Jacob Knight. The REALLY new kid on the block was born here in Boston on Wednesday and weighed in at 7 lbs, 5 oz. Eric will join big brother Dante Jordan Knight (7 years old) at home. Congrats!!!

In my dream of dreams, all the baby NKOTBers will get together some day and create the ultimate boy band.  Well maybe not Jonathan’s kids because he never really wanted to be there in the first place.  NKOTB 4-eva!!  ha ha

Grey’s Anatomy Redux: Some Kind of Miracle

Grey’s Anatomy: Some Kind of Miracle

Yeah, I got your emails…all of them. And I know I haven’t yet posted about last night’s Grey’s Anatomy, but there’s a reson for that – I’m a little unsure how to do so. See my problem is that I don’t know if last night’s episode was genius or a complete disaster. I’ve only watched it once and although I enjoyed the episode I really don’t know what to make of it.

What I liked…
Denny, Coach Taylor, Abby Morgan and the woman from Amen! Let’s just call them the ‘deadies’. It was nice to see the ‘deadies’ back. Well at least Denny and Dylan (is that his name? the bomb squad guy? or am I getting confused because he coaches the Dillion Panther on FNL?). Those two guys brought a lot to the scenes they were in last night. As did Ellen Pompeo. She’s a great crier…kudos for making it convincing.

Patrick Dempsey turned it up a notch last night, and his waterworks were impressive as well. Unfortunately for him (and me) every time he gets emotionally I can’t help but think of the “you wrecked me” scene from Can’t Buy Me Love. Sorry, but it’s true. With that aside, I thought he was great.

Also on the great list were Bailey – I love when her compassion shines through. George – for laying it down for Izzie (sorry but you crossed a line sweetie). Christina for showing some honest to god emotion over Meredith’s trauma. Nicely played Sandra Oh.

Here’s my issue…
I didn’t care about Meredith. Not that I wanted her to die or anything, but it was so obvious from her opening VO that she was going to live that there was no suspense there. The purgatory or wherever her and the deadies were hanging out kind of bored me. Why were the deadies there? Were they stuck? Why did Abby Morgan keep bleeding? And if she was bleeding, then why wasn’t Dylan turning into pink mist or Denny dying from a bad heart all over again? Maybe it was because I watched the show at 1am, but this all was very confusing to me.

30 Rock Episode Recaps

Title: “Hard Ball”
Original airdate: Feb. 22, 2007
GMMR Recapper: Brian

Seriously, why is 30 Rock on after The Office? I love 30 Rock or I wouldn’t go to the effort to recap it and break it down for all y’all each week. But after what just went down in Scranton, Pa., it’s going to take some serious buckling down right now.

OK, I’m cool now. So Jenna’s posing for Maxim. I know I’ve taken every opportunity I could to slam Jane Krakowski. Nine months later I’m still bitter that she replaced Rachel Dratch as the female lead in The Girlie Show-within-the-show. But she’s been breaking me down slowly, and what little resistance I had left to her after The Rural Juror is gone after tonight. But enough about me.

Liz (Tina Fey) is distressed that Jenna would demean herself by basting in salad dressing and posing for a magazine read by old guys that live at the Y and teenage boys with weird rashes. The photo shoot proves Krakowski can do physical comedy, by the way.

The Office Recap: Cocktails

The Office Recap

Title: “Cocktails”
Original Airdate: Feb. 22, 2007

This was simply a wonderful night of television. For me, it started all with The Office. And hot damn it was a great episode. If we have to go the rumored six weeks before another new ep, at least we got something to ponder while we are on this mini-hiatus. But more of that in a minute.

Let’s start with the funny – the cold open.

Michael being Michael dazzled the office with his magic skills, or at least tried to. After getting completely wrapped up and shackled into a straight jacket, Mr. Scott attempted to free himself without any assistance. Soooo I’m thinking you know how that ended. The key falls from his mouth, Jim hides it and Michael ends up writing around on the floor of his office in a desperate panic. Oh Michael Scott, I’m so glad you don’t really exist in this world.

Jan and Michael, CocktailsMore of the funny takes place during a cocktail party at the home of the Dunder Mifflin CFO (those aren’t his initials, don’t get confused). Jan and Michael are officially a couple and are ready to declare themselves to all of Dunder Mifflin. Well, Michael is ready…Jan not so much. Michael manages to make a fool of himself, and of Jan, at every possible turn. Jan wasn’t pleased, and you know how she responded? By trying to get it on with Michael in the bathroom. Oh yeah, she wants him. She can’t get enough of the Michael Scott Love Machine. She’s so reluctantly smitten, she even threw the camera a “that’s what she said” tonight. Yeah she did. Something tells me that although he’s a terrible manager in the office, he might be a better manager in the bedroom. The twosome come close to breaking things off during the car ride home, but Dwight begs them not to break up (I second that by the way). These kids will make it…mark my words.

As my final O.C. post before the series finale tonight (um, hey have I mentioned it’s the series finale? I feel like I may have overlooked that today) I thought we could have fun with a little O.C. trivia. Are you a true blood Newpsie? You are if you know the answer to the following? (Check back for answers tomorrow)’

Taye Diggs, Grey’s Anatomy

Here’s a little more news of the Grey’s Anatomy spin-off that’s in the works. It looks like Taye Diggs might be joining Kate Walsh in the new show. Rumor has it that near the end of the season we will see Dr. Addison Shepher (Walsh) mulling over a new out-of-town job offer. We then see Addie in her new life during an expanded 2-hour Grey’s Anatomy. So here’s the hoping that the rumors are true and Diggs will be at her new digs.

The OC Series Finale – Cast’s Favorite Moments

The OC Series Finale

Curious as to what some of the cast of The O.C. noted as their favorite memory from the show? Check it out. And I’ve added some of my favorite memories too (at least the ones I could find online). WOW, this is getting real. Just hours away from saying goodbye. Someone hold me (Ben…Adam…hello?!)

Peter Gallagher
peter_100.jpg “I guess my favorite moment was the day I read the pilot script. That was very exciting. And I certainly loved singing in the second season. And you know, frankly, I have had so many good days on this show; I loved going to work; I love the cast; I love this crew; I love our directors and every day on this set sure beats working in a coal mine.”

Rachel Bilson
summersmall.jpg “I like when I get to do things that really are embarrassing for me because it’s fun to make fun of yourself. I like the episode last year where at prom I got really drunk and fell off the stage and it was my first time doing a stunt, so I like to brag and tell people that I can do stunts because I got to fall off the stage, even though it was like a foot. The stunt girl did the fall… but I did a little of that. But that was just a fun episode — there were just so many.”

Ben McKenzie
ryansmall.jpg “The first day of the pilot was kind of nutty. I showed up in the Valley and we were shooting Ryan at his old house with his mom. I think McG stopped by for like two seconds… ‘You’re going to be great, you’re going to be great’ and then ran away. It was cool. I think it was just me and Doug and I think Peter maybe worked a little with Doug Liman the director. And then Peter was in a couple scenes… it was pretty heavy stuff. It was kind of crazy. It was either sink or swim time; so thankfully it has worked out.”

The O.C. Creator Josh Schwartz – GMMR Exclusive Interview

February 22, 2007 by
Filed under The OC, TV News

Josh Schwartz

You gotta love Josh Schwartz. At just 27 years old, Josh was the creator on what was the most buzz worthy show to hit primetime in years, The O.C.. Now at the ripe old age of 30, Josh will be letting go of his baby and moving on to create new television that will we soon all be talking about.

On a personal note, I can’t even begin to tell you what a cool cat Josh is. Here is a the creator of The O.C. and he takes time to write bloggers and thank them individually for their support of the show. Josh is incredibly accessible. Whenever there was a rumor about the show flying around, or if I had a question or comment about what I just saw in an episode, Josh was right there with a response…usually just minutes after I emailed him. How amazing is that? That is someone that truly cares about the fans.

In honor of the series finale of The O.C., Josh was kind enough to answer some questions exclusively for Give Me My Remote. Here’s his take on all things Newport.

GMMR: Season 4 had a major resurgence with the fans and the critics – do you think The OC had stories to tell past this season or was it time to go?
Josh Schwartz:
This feels like the perfect time to bring the story to a close. It’s a rare gift to end a show on a creative high note. It wasn’t necessarily our choice, but it was the perfect time for The OC to end.

GMMR: What would you say is your favorite on-screen moment?
JS:
#1: Sandy drives Ryan home leaving Marissa in the driveway at the end of THE PILOT. #2 Seth and Summer lose their virginity to each other in THE HEARTBREAK. #3 Seth / Summer Spiderman kiss in THE RAINY DAY WOMEN. #4 Ryan and Taylor share their first kiss in THE METAMORPHISIS.

GMMR: And your favorite off-screen memory?
JS: The filming of the pilot was incredibly exciting. With Doug Liman directing, it was amazing to see the Cohens and the Coopers come to life for the first time. My number two favorite off-screen memory was meeting George Lucas.

The Office Thursday on Give Me My Remote

tot_fab_five_emmys.jpg

You may be shocked to hear this, but there isn’t a ton of new Office gossip to share this week. As always what I have I will give to you.

LIVE Office Chat TONIGHT…
The Office Chat
As always, we will be watching tonight’s episode together LIVE on BuddyTV. We usually get started around 8pm EST so I hope you can stop by. We’re looking at 6 weeks until another new episode of The Office (damn you college basketball) so tonight’s chat should be a good one. Please join us. Click here to set a reminder for the Office chat.

Tonight on The Office…
michaljan.jpg“Cocktails” (8:30/7:30 c)
Michael and Jan attend a party at a Dunder Mifflin bigwig’s home, where they finally go public with their heretofore hushed romance. While at the party, Jim meets Karen’s ex. JJ Abrams directed this one so I’m fully expecting Dwight to become a Double Agent (Alias) , Creed to discover a new hatch (Lost), and a lot of angst between Jim/Pam/Karen/Roy (Felicity…but we don’t need JJ for that).

From the desk of Meredith Palmer…
Kate Flannery (Meredith Palmer) on The OfficeWhether she knows it or not, Kate Flannery is keeping the spoiler addicts very busy dissecting every last word from her latest TV Guide blog. Check out what she has to say about the bat and that bag over her head last week, what it was like to have JJ Abrams direct, and what is in store for us in tonight’s episode. (Kate’s Blog) For more on Kate and her encounter with the bat check out a little Q&A from OfficeTally.com

The Spoiler Cocktail …
One part Jan and Michael, add two parts Jim and Karen, add a dash of Dwight and hint of the rest of the office and you get tonight’s spoiler cocktail. Check out scene from tonight’s show. As always I will warn you that it’s just not worth it, but I’ve seen them all so my words are hollow. I’m excited to tell you that for the remainder of the season you won’t have to go to another site to get the Office clips. They will be featured right here on GMMR. But for now check out these sites:
