E!’s Korbi Ghosh just broke the new that James van der Beek will be guesting on an upcoming episode of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER.  Who exactly who The Beek will be portraying is TBD but rumors are swirling that he might just be an old crush of Canadian pop sensation, Robin Sparkles.

Now this is a HIMYM guest star I can really get behind. I’m grabbing some dinner with Ms. Ghosh herself tonight so I’ll try to see if she has any more scoopage.

Break out the acid washed jeans because the original kids are back! After first hinting at a reunion back in January, the New Kids on the Block will be reuniting on The Today Show this Friday, April 4th. Some reports are saying the guys will perform together while others just hinted of an interview – the first joint public appearance for all 5 guys in years.

Me? I’m hoping they are performing right before they announce the dates for the NKOTB Reunion Tour.

This makes for a happy day.

Check out some new videos of the guys reflecting back on their NKOTB days here.

Believe it or not I’m walking on air I’m back in L.A.. It feels like I was just here. It’s nice to be back in the warmer-than-Boston climate. I’m only here until Tuesday and then I’m heading back home. I’ve got my Slingbox so hopefully I can keep up with tonight’s TV. Of course I’m looking forward to THE BIG BANG THEORY and HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER the most…my Monday shows, ah. Actually, I went to a friend’s house last night and she lives across from CBS Studios and I was greeted with a huge poster (the size of the building) of Sheldon and Leonard…I was so happy!

Ok so here’s a sample of what’s on TV tonight. What will YOU be watching?

The Big Bang Theory | 8pm on CBS

Sheldon gets sick, but the guys refuse to take care of him because he’s such a bad patient, which leaves an unsuspecting Penny to nurse him back to health.

Check out a clip from tonight’s episode…

Dancing with the Stars | 8pm on ABC
In this third week of performances, the “talent” takes on the tango and the jive. It’s been a while since I’ve watched this show, but if I remember correctly the jive is the kiss of death for most of the dancers, no? Any standouts so far this season? How’s Adam Carolla and Steve Guttenberg doing?

How I Met Your Mother | 8:30pm on CBS
“The Bracket”
Barney tries to find the mystery woman who’s out to ruin his reputation, and he uses the basketball tournament-bracket template to eliminate 64 suspects, all of whom have reasons to hate him.

Annnnnnd scene…

New Amsterdam |9pm on Fox
New Amsterdam on Fox“Legacy”
When a murder victim in Chinatown reminds John of a son he lost in the early 20th century, the investigation leads to a ruthless crime family who are related to his offspring, causing John to reflect on the consequences of his immortality. The Bachelor | 9:30pm on ABC
The Bachelor - Matt GrantMatt has 12 bachelorettes from which to choose, and he selects two of them for one-on-one dates: a movie premiere at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood with Holly; and a trip to an Ojai, Cal., winery in his Maserati with Shayne. (GMMR: Ugh, I’m kind of bummed that I haven’t yet seen The Bachelor. I was away when it premiered and now I feel like I’m too far behind. You guys are liking this season, right?)

The New Adventures of Old Christine | 9:30pm on CBS | Season Finale
The New Adventures of Old ChristineThe third season concludes with Christine fearing she may be experiencing perimenopause after her gynecologist (Jason Alexander) suggests her flu-like symptoms may be a sign of it. The news makes Christine determined to take control of her hormones.

BIG BROTHER 9 Spoilers from Inside the House – POV Winner

Finally some strategy inside the walls of the BIG BROTHER house. There’s been some shiftiness happening and you know how I like me some shiftiness.

Find out who won the POV and eavesdrop as to who the houseguests are conspiring to send home. Check out the latest spoilers here: Big Brother 9 spoilers!

BIG BROTHER Spoilers (Update #18) – POV Winner

March 29, 2008 by

So the veto competition was held today. The houseguests had to do some mathematical conversions of some sort in order to get an answer and depending on how close they were to the actual, the better they did.

James won and Sharon was all upset because she feels that she let Josh down because now Josh will be going home.

Natalie plans to put Sharon up in James’ place. Sheila is kissing Sharon’s butt in order to stay on her good side because she thinks that Josh is already leaving with a 4-0 or 3-1 vote. However, Natalie, Ryan, Josh and James make a pact to keep Josh in the game because it’ll keep Natalie and Ryan safer in the long run. Basically, Josh is giving Natalie and Ryan a two week pass where he will not put them up if he gets HOH, and they all only have to guarantee that they vote to keep him in this week. He plans on continuing to mope around like he is going home, even though he knows he won’t be if Ryan and Natalie follow through.

James is sitting pretty because he’s told the whole house that he is giving Josh the pity vote, so Ryan looks like the flip-flopper and Natalie breaks the tie. However, it is still Friday and eviction isn’t until Wednesday, so there are still 5 more days of drama to take place.

Big Brother Spoilers (Update #17) – Food Comp and Nominations

March 28, 2008 by

GMMR’s resident Big Brother watcher, Kilwiggle, is back with a few spoilers from inside the BIG BROTHER 9 house.

Last night, James approached Natalie about a possible secret alliance. He said that she could use the fact that she was going to backdoor him in order to put up Joshuah and Sharon. He told her to think about it, but that he’d have her back in the game because they both lost their partners and that he wants to work with her, but couldn’t while Chelsia was there. He said that he got Matt out because he was the biggest threat to him and he couldn’t take that chance.

This morning a food competition was held. I’m not sure what the competition was, but everyone but Natalie and Adam are on slop. Sharon said that she isn’t going to use her slop pass because she doesn’t think it would be fair to the rest of the house.

Natalie also had to make her nominations. She chose Josh and James to put on the block.

Christian Siriano to Guest on UGLY BETTY

Christian Siriano thinks he knows fierce…but he hasn’t met Marc St. James yet. All that’s going to change in May when the Project Runway winner guests on a sweeps episode of Ugly Betty which will also feature a cameo from Project Runway judge and Creative Director of ELLE Magazine, Nina Garcia.

According to reports, Christian will have a run in with Mode Magazine’s own ‘hot tranny mess’ – Alexis Meade (Rebecca Romijn). Let’s hope the writers give us a scene with a Christian and Marc – talk about fierce.

And in case you need a little Marc fix, here’s one of my favorite bits. In charge Marc is a hot mess.

GOSSIP GIRL Spoilers to Tide Us Over

Spoilers…don’t read if you don’t want to know.

When GOSSIP GIRL returns on April 21st there will be a few changes in the lives of our favorite blogged about teens.

  • One of the boys will opening the door and take those first steps out of the closet. Who will it be? All fingers point to Eric van der Woodsen, but you never know. I mean in the book series it was Dan Humphrey who had one eye on the ladies and the other on the boys.  Thoughts?
  • Serena’s past indiscretions are going to come back to haunt her via the ghost of bitchy past played by the sassy Michelle Trachtenberg. Looks like her fling with Nate wasn’t the only thing that sent S running for boarding school.
  • Speaking of Mr. Archibald, Nate will soon be smooching a gal he’s never smooched before.  Want to know who it is?  Check out the pic after the jump.

I’m not sure I could be any more excited for the return of GOSSIP GIRL.  Here’s to hoping The CW sends out the ep in advance so I can tease you some more.

Oh and as for Nate’s lip lock….

John Krasinski and George Clooney in LEATHERHEADS

Since we’re on a roll, let’s just go all out…Check out this video of my personal heaven – John Krasinski and George Clooney in the same room together. Little things make me happy. Actually, this is a pretty hilarious video that’s worthy of checking out even if you’re a straight guy. And it’s always sweet to hear John Krasinski say my name. Yes, I submitted a question and it was answered by George and John. Well, hot damn!! (Hint: I’m Kath from Newton, MA)

John and George interview each other in preparation of the April 4th premiere of LEATHERHEADS. Did you hear about that movie? Have I mentioned it?

Give it up for Newton, MA….

More from the John Krasinski Files…

John KrasinskiPlease excuse the self indulgence, but when your favorite TV actor has a leading role in a major motion picture, well, it’s cause to celebrate.

We’ve been celebrating John Krasinski here on GiveMeMyRemote.com before he was on most people’s radars and I’m not about to stop now, especially when there’s so much to talk about. And until I can land my own dream interview with the guy (a scenario which includes beer and a Red Sox game – I’m a simple gal), I’m just going to have to share those of others.

By Donna Freydkin, USA TODAY
NEW YORK — Scoring the lead in George Clooney’s third directorial effort, the football comedy Leatherheads?
Simple.
Taking the Oscar winner on in a one-on-one game of basketball, for money?
Simple-minded.

Living proof of that is John Krasinski, who won a plum part in Clooney’s sports flick but lost a chunk of change to the actor/director while on location in North Carolina.

“It was like White Men Can’t Jump. I was like, movie stars can’t jump. This dude can’t play. And he Woody Harrelsoned me,” recalls Krasinski, 28. “I basically was conned there. He beat me handily.”

True enough, says Clooney, who gives Krasinski credit for being a gracious loser — to the tune of $2,000.

“He’s a really good athlete. He said, ‘I’ll kick your butt.’ I thought, he’ll take me because he’s younger and taller,” says Clooney, 46, who’s 5-foot-11. (Krasinski’s 6-foot-3.) “But I beat him straight up. And he paid right there, but I didn’t take his money.”

No hard feelings, though, Clooney says. “He put a basketball rim up at my house in Italy. He still comes to my house on Sundays and we still play — but not for money because he can’t afford it,” says Clooney. “He’s a good friend. He’s a guy’s guy. Couldn’t be more of a guy’s guy. He’s just fun.” (continue reading at USA Today)

Sarah Wayne Callies Returning to PRISON BREAK!!

Filed under Prison Break, Prison Break Spoilers

Color me flabbergasted!!  The news just broke that Sarah Wayne Callies will be returning to PRISON BREAK next season to reprise her role as Dr. Sara Tancredi (or Dr. Tequila Tancredi as she’s known around here).  Looks like the good doctor’s head wasn’t in the box after all.

Executive Producer Matt Olmstead talked to Kristin Dos Santos from E! and Michael Ausiello from TV Guide about this breaking news.  Among other things Olmstead said that part of the decision to bring Sara back had to do with not only the fan reaction about her departure, but also the lingering question of whether or not it was really Sara’s head in the box that was delivered to Lincoln.  He also said that Season 4 will tell the story of Sara’s disappearance and the confluence of events that led up to her perceived death.

Season 3 ended with Michael off on his own trying to hunt down the Company and avenge Sara’s killers.  With her alive, that story is going to change a bit.  But the good news is that Michael and Sara will be reunited, and while I’m sure everything won’t be lollipops and origami roses, it will be nice to see these two finally together.

If you’re interested in the events that led up to Sarah Wayne Callies return to Prison Break, and hints as to how they will bring Sara Tancredi back into the fold, you should definitely check out KDS and Ausiello’s columns.  There are some spoilers in there so don’t say I didn’t warn you.

So Prison Break fans….what’s your take on this news?  I know GMMR readers were quote vocal about Sarah’s initial departure.  Are you happy to have her back?  Thoughts?

Joss Whedon’s DOLLHOUSE Adds to Cast

Joss Whedon’s DOLLHOUSE Adds to Cast

If there wasn’t reason enough to be excited about Joss Whedon’s new show DOLLHOUSE now comes word that a favorite from BATTLESTAR GALACTICA is joining the cast. According to TheHollywoodReporter.com, Tahmoh Penikett, best known for his role as Lt. Karl “Helo” Agathon on Battlestar Galactica, has been cast as Paul Smith, an FBI field agent obsessed with the urban myth of Dollhouse and a twisted romantic foil for Echo (series star Eliza Dushku).

DOLLHOUSE center around ‘a group of men and women who can be imprinted with personality packages, including memories, skills, language—even muscle memory—for different assignments. The assignments can be romantic, adventurous, outlandish, uplifting, sexual and/or very illegal. When not imprinted with a personality package, Echo and the others are basically mind-wiped, living like children in a futuristic dorm/lab dubbed the Dollhouse, with no memory of their assignments—or of much else. The show revolves around the childlike Echo’s burgeoning self-awareness, and her desire to know who she was before, a desire that begins to seep into her various imprinted personalities and puts her in danger both in the field and in the closely monitored confines of the Dollhouse.’

Also joining the cast are Fran Kranz, Dichen Lachman and Enver Gjokaj.

Kranz will play Topher Brink, a twentysomething genius programr responsible for imprinting the dolls. Lachman will play Sierra, a doll like Echo and her friend, who has every personality in the world but her own. Gjokaj will play Victor, also a doll and a friend of Echo’s, who is childlike when he’s inactive, and everything from Errol Flynn to young DeNiro when he’s active.

DOLLHOUSE already has a seven-episode commitment from Fox.  Seems like Fox has heard good things about this Whedon guy.

Who Got Evicted From the BIG BROTHER House Last Night?

Find out who got evicted from the BIG BROTHER house and who was named the new Head of Household?

Although it seems that I’ve had less time for BIG BROTHER these days, I’ve been enjoying the show so much more since they split up the ‘soul mates’ and let each contestant play for his or her self.  That’s the Big Brother that I know, and it makes the game so much more interesting.

That being said, the ramifications from the once paired twosomes played heavily into this week’s nominations and eventual eviction.

James and Chelsia were originally paired as partners and then became romantically involved – well if sex in the Big Brother house which is equipped with hundreds of cameras can qualify as romance.  A partnership of any kind puts a big ‘ol target on your back, and James and Chelsia learned that first hand when they were both nominated this week.  But after James won the POV and took himself off the block, Chelsia was left to fight the good fight against other nominated houseguest, Sharon.

Elisha Cuthbert Returns to TV in NY-LON

Elisha Cuthbert Returns to TV in NY-LON24 fans will be happy (or not) to hear that Elisha Cuthbert will be returning to TV in the Fall. Cuthbert, best known for her roles as Jack Bauer’s daughter Kim on 24, has just been tapped to play the lead in the CBS drama NY-LON.

NY-LON is a remake of a 2004 British series that starred Rashida Jones (The Office, Unhitched). NY-LON centers on New York literacy teacher/record store clerk (Cuthbert), and a London stock broker, who embark on a cross-continental romance.

From what I understand, the pilot episode calls for Cuthbert to be put into dire situations that require her to whine into the camera and be all annoying. And yes, there will be mountain lions. Given her experience, I think she’ll be a natural in this role.

Part 2

In the intro of the show they showed footage from the upcoming “Dinner Party” episode, but it didn’t have any sound or anything. I thought they were going to show a scene but sadly they didn’t.
