Let’s talk about Monday night’s TV!

THE VOICE: I loved the premiere so much? I honestly didn’t know what to expect from Nick Jonas, but he felt like a really fresh addition to the series. As someone who takes extensive notes—but, uh, maybe a little more detailed—Nick’s notebook cracked me up. I really hope they end up putting it all online at some point.

The chemistry between the coaches was also the best it’s been in years. Nick Jonas had early Adam Levine energy—standing on the chair—but also had a really valuable perspective for the young contestants as a performer who has been doing this for basically half his life. (Also, Chrissy Teigen declaring she was Team Kelly from the audience made me laugh out loud.)

The contestants were also one of the strongest groups in years. Nelson Cade III and Tayler Green were incredible, and Parious Lyles and Joanna Serenko were strong contenders, too. I could see them all making it top 4, easily, and this is just the premiere. What else do they have up their sleeve?

(Also, I know that puppy Blake threatened was 100% safe, but I hope someone adopted it up ASAP if it didn’t have a home before it appeared on the show.)
