Let’s talk about Wednesday’s TV!

THE GOLDBERGS: It feels like THE GOLDBERGS probably can’t last beyond Adam living at home/in high school, but I also absolutely believe Bev would follow Adam to literally anywhere…it is absolutely no surprise she also applied to NYU. (A little more surprising she got in, but that’s a whole other issue.)

THE WONDER YEARS: Man, I loved Bill and Dean’s fishing trip. Should Dean have lied about why he was upset? Probably not. But it was also lovely he let himself feel it versus be in denial, etc. And Don Cheadle is so good as the narrator.

CHICAGO FIRE: Wow, my heart breaks for Herrmann. He absolutely did the right thing, and I respect his decision to protect Brett, but he saved a kid’s life and now his career trajectory could be forever changed. What an awful situation—but a beautiful performance by David Eigenberg.

(Also, I’m worried about Cruz.)

THE CONNERS: I truly appreciate that Roseanne has been gone for years in THE CONNERS’ world, but they don’t shy away from grieving and mourning her loss when it fits the current story. Darlene being shaken when she discovers her mother’s writing in a bible was gut-wrenching, but so realistic.

BIG BROTHER: Well, there was really no other way for the season to end. (Though when Azah was thinking of taking X to final 2 if she had won HoH, I was very stressed, because it did not seem like she would have actually won against him; I think she would have beaten Big D.) And I’m VERY glad Tiffany ended up winning the fan vote, because the Cookout’s success likely wouldn’t have happened if her outside partner plan hadn’t been implemented.

CHICAGO P.D.: Oh, Burgess. I’m worried about her. I understand you probably can’t sit out too long, where you overthink things, but good lord, she’s had a deeply awful, traumatizing couple of years…she needs time to recover.

If the UC op had to go sideways, I’m glad she was at least able to save herself versus needing the team to save her. And she was able to bring Sarah emotional closure. But, ugh, I hope Burgess is okay.

A MILLION LITTLE THINGS: Well, I’m absolutely relieved Gary did not beat up Peter, but…he’s still absolutely screwed. It feels like there’s this cloud of misery and doom looming over him and I’m not sure how or when it’s going to burst. Will it be Christopher cracking? Peter waking up? Gary’s own guilt? Ugh.

But, oh my God, Katherine freaking out about having an actress she loves in her home? Absolutely adorable. (As was them geeking out over DAYS OF OUR LIVES.)
