“Halloween 2: The Ghost of Hetty’s Past” – A séance at Sam and Jay’s last-minute Halloween party conjures up a spirit from Hetty’s past. Also, Isaac worries Nigel will be turned off by his ghost power, on the CBS Original series GHOSTS, Thursday, Oct. 27 (8:31-9:01 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+. It’s a very spooky GHOSTS Halloween on the Thursday, October 27, “Halloween 2: The Ghost of Hetty’s Past.”

“In true GHOSTS fashion, all hell’s gonna break loose at Woodstone for Halloween, as it did last year,” series star Rebecca Wisocky (Hetty) tells Give Me My Remote. “And we have the same director for this Halloween episode that we did last year—Katie Locke O’Brien—and this year it’s even more more ridiculous.”

When Sam (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) decide to throw a last-minute Halloween party, it doesn’t go well. But Hetty steps in with an idea to spice things up.

“I think it’s fascinating that the Joes [AKA creators Joe Port and Joe Wiseman] had been so smart about peppering in things that are very true to our time periods,” Wisocky says. “The occult, spiritualism, and séances were very much in fashion during Hetty’s time period. She reveals that she did at least one in her lifetime as a party trick—so she suggests to Sam, when they are having a dud of a Halloween party, that they can liven things up by all of the ghosts aiding in a pretend séance.”

But things don’t stay pretend for long. “Of course, lo and behold, it it ends up working,” she previews. “The mythology of GHOSTS expands once again, and we realize that ghosts can visit us from the above. Ironically, the person that is summoned is the person that Hetty would least like to see in the world: her Irish maid who was sleeping with her husband, Molly. Hetty is not at all happy to see this person.”

Unfortunately for Hetty, some of the ghosts are a little too excited by the new arrival. “We’ve got a new visitor that Sass is kind of enamored with,” Román Zaragoza (Sass) previews. “And he might be fighting for some attention with another ghost. He’s hungry for some love, he’s hungry for female attention—or just attention in general. He’s just a hopeless romantic at heart.”

Like it or not, though, Hetty will have to contend with her maid-turned-nemesis before the episode is over. Teases Wisocky, “They end up being forced to confront one another.”

GHOSTS, Thursdays, 8:30/7:30c, CBS
