“Left of Boom” – The Fly Team lands in hot water when Vo is found at the scene where a Hungarian gambling regulator was murdered, on the CBS Original series FBI: INTERNATIONAL, Tuesday, April 12 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+.

FBI: INTERNATIONAL is getting a blast from the past in 2023, as the Fly Team reunites with their former Europol liaison Jaeger (Christiane Paul).

“I love Christiane, and one of my plans from the jump, when I knew she couldn’t come back for season 2, was just to find a way to get her even in one episode,” FBI: INTERNATIONAL showrunner Derek Haas tells Give Me My Remote. “And the nice thing is, we set an episode in Berlin, and [we went] there to shoot—[and] she lives in Berlin. And that was the whole idea: Let’s set an episode in Berlin [and] go shoot there, so Christiane can be in it and we can see Jaeger again.”

Though the Fly Team is very well acquainted with the agent, “Glimmers and Ghosts” will mark the first time viewers will see Jaeger and Smitty (Eva-Jane Willis)—whom Jaeger picked as her liaison replacement—interact. “We play Smitty as if [Jaeger] is her idol—it’s like getting to meet Derek Jeter,” Haas says with a laugh. “She’s excited to work with her and show off and shine.”

The official tease of the hour shared that they’ll be investigating “a case involving an unidentified American who killed an elderly German man who appears to have been a covert asset of the ruthless Stasi in East Germany during the Cold War.” And for Jaeger, it’s a bit personal.

“The Stasi were secret police in East Germany, and Jaeger is of an age where she remembers before the wall came down in ’89, when East Berlin and West Berlin were divided,” Haas previews. “And so these ghosts from the past are very real to her. So we crafted the story around that and our writer, Edgar Castillo, just did a phenomenal job.”
