“Glimmers and Ghosts” – The Fly Team and Smitty reunite with Jaeger (Christiane Paul) in Berlin as they all delve into a case involving an unidentified American who killed an elderly German man who appears to have been a covert asset of the ruthless Stasi in East Germany during the Cold War, on the CBS Original series FBI: INTERNATIONAL, Tuesday, Feb. 14 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+. FBI: INTERNATIONAL is getting a visit from a familiar face on the Tuesday, February 14 episode: Jaeger (Christiane Paul)!

In a first look video from “Glimmers and Ghosts,” Jamie (Heida Reed) is confused about why they’re being looped into their newest case—until their former Europol liaison pops up on the video screen.

“Katrin, how are you?” Jamie asks in the clip below. “It’s been a while.”

“Too long,” Jaeger replies. “But I’m sure you’ve been keeping busy, though.”

Jaeger then turns her attention to the team leader, acknowledging Scott’s (Luke Kleintank) recent—nearly career-derailing—run-in with Dandridge (Michael Torpey). “Looks like I’m not the only one who has dealt with—how do you Americans call it? Friendly fire?” she jokes.

“And we’re both still standing,” Scott acknowledges.

Jaeger also checks in with her replacement, Smitty (Eva-Jane Willis), who acknowledges she is “hanging in there. Big shoes to fill.”

And with a promise to catch up when the team comes to Berlin, Jaeger gets down to business: they have a suspect for a case…but it’s based on an audio recording of a murder.

For Jaeger, the case ends up being personal: Their murder victim may have been a covert asset of the Stasi.

“The Stasi were secret police in East Germany, and Jaeger is of an age where she remembers before the wall came down in ’89, when East Berlin and West Berlin were divided,” FBI: INTERNATIONAL boss Derek Haas previously shared with Give Me My Remote. “And so these ghosts from the past are very real to her. So we crafted the story around that and our writer, Edgar Castillo, just did a phenomenal job.”

But there will be some lightness when the team arrives in Berlin. When Smitty and Jaeger do officially meet, “we play Smitty as if [Jaeger] is her idol—it’s like getting to meet Derek Jeter,” Haas shared with a laugh. “She’s excited to work with her and show off and shine.”
