It’s official: FBI: INTERNATIONAL’s Forrester (Luke Kleintank) is keeping his job.

Though the agent was off-screen a good amount early in the season—due to Kleintank’s real-life paternity leave—the Tuesday, January 24 episode, “Someone She Knew,” in theory, was Forrester’s last case with the Fly Team, thanks to Dandridge’s (Michael Torpey) manipulation.

But Forrester was able to prove that Dandridge was playing dirty—including illegally wiretapping him, to get information behind Scott’s back—and Dandridge’s assignment with the Fly Team was promptly voided, and Forrester is sticking around.

“With Dandridge dispatched, Forrester is going to have some smooth sailing job-wise for a while,” FBI: INTERNATIONAL boss Derek Haas tells Give Me My Remote via email. “I mean, you can never be too settled, can you? Still, he’s always welcomed by his team…they love him.”

“But there is one particular person in Russia who would like to have Forrester in his crosshairs some day, literally,” he continues. “Forrester killed his brother, and the Russian assassin Vlad is still out there. I hope he never comes back!”

With Dandridge’s exit comes a bit more bittersweet goodbye: McKenna (Kelley Missal), Dandridge’s plant who ended up being key to taking him down, is also leaving the team.

“We like to build up a world of FBI agents who travel in and out of the Fly Team’s orbit so that we can bring them back every now and then — like Jaeger next [episode]!” Haas previews. “When the case is right, we’ll see McKenna again.”

Of course, it’s not exactly going to be easy, case-wise, for the Fly Team now that Scott is back.

“Oh, there’s gonna be a plane incident coming soon,” Haas teases. “The not so friendly skies meets the Fly Team. What could go wrong?”

FBI: INTERNATIONAL, Tuesdays, 9/8c, CBS
