Let’s talk about Tuesday night’s TV!

THE VOICE: Ephraim Owens! Wow. My highlight of the night, for sure.

I do wish they would stop doing the scripted shtick in the already short hour-long episodes. Everything about the second episode felt rushed; we didn’t need Gwen and John faking that Niall isn’t allowed in the winners’ room.

CELEBRITY NAME THAT TUNE: With all due respect to the athletes, this was a rough hour of games. On the bright side, when it came time for the final round, Adam and Rashad did manage to get a decent amount of money. But a curious choice to have this be the second aired episode of the season.

AMERICA’S GOT TALENT: Wow, I have…absolutely no clue who is going to win. You can certainly make a case for Murmuration—who were great—since they got the end spot of the episode/is the last thing viewers will remember from the episode. But there’s really a case to be made for nearly half of the contestants, I’d argue.

(I’d also, once again, say this is a failure of the new structure of the series, because at least when you had a couple of weeks of shows before the finals and it wasn’t this many acts, you could have had a real number of weeks to get a feel for who is real/has enough to sustain an act versus a couple of performances.)
