FBI: MOST WANTED Roxy Sternberg interview

“Hollow” – The Fugitive Task Force heads upstate to assist in a search for missing and murdered Indigenous women and hunt down the serial killer responsible. Meanwhile, Barnes struggles to find time to bond with her wife, on FBI: MOST WANTED, Tuesday, March 12 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs). FBI: MOST WANTED’s Fugitive Task Force is used to tracking down some of the very worst criminals—but the case they find themselves in the middle of on the Tuesday, March 12 hour, “Hollow,” is particularly jaw-dropping.

“We are hunting a pretty horrific guy who has done some pretty heinous, disgusting things,” Roxy Sternberg, who plays Barnes, tells Give Me My Remote. “I was just thinking that some of the things that we see in this episode, it’s not very often that we come across these—it’s almost unfathomable. So this is a pretty dark episode, in terms of the character that we’re chasing.”

The team is initially brought on board because Indigenous women have gone missing. Due to the complex nature of the investigation, “we actually bring on board some people who specialize in the Indigenous community,” Sternberg previews. Enter SRA Whitehawk (Eddie Spears).

“He has connections,” she shares. “When you’re dealing with something that’s so specific, I think that’s when we need to be a little bit more hands off and have someone who actually knows the specifics of this take charge. And so that happens in this case.”

“That has happened a few times, when we’re dealing with just something that’s really specific,” Sternberg continues. “We need to know when it’s our forte and when it’s not something we know enough about; it’s important to admit when one doesn’t know enough of something.”

But unfortunately for Barnes, that’s not the only trouble in her life. Before the team is assigned the case, she and her wife, Charlotte (Fedna Jacquet), try coordinating their schedules…and things get tense between the duo. (You can watch the moment in the exclusive clip below.)

“When Charlotte’s [preparing to go] off on a work trip, I’m trying to get in, I’m trying to connect,” Sternberg explains, in character. “I think I’m aware that we could benefit from some date nights, some family time, some Charlotte and Barnes time.”

Then Barnes is called away to work. “I don’t think [Barnes] knows to the extent [Charlotte is bothered by it],” Sternberg says. “I think she’s quite delusional, almost. I think she’s so focused on her work. She hasn’t quite caught on to what extent this has gotten to.”

“I think she would like to be a little bit closer to her wife, but then I think it’s business as usual,” she continues. “Charlotte is so used to seeing Barnes pick up her phone and say, ‘One second, I’m sorry. I’ve got to take this,’ and walk away from the situation. There is a little bit of a little bit of tension at the end of that scene where she does realize that Charlotte is a little bit upset with her…[but] I think she’s in denial.”
