On the Tuesday, September 20 season premiere of FBI: MOST WANTED, “Iron Pipeline,” the Fugitive Task Force is called in when a family of four is killed.

“It’s a topical story with lots of action and a great emotional hook,” showrunner David Hudgins teased to Give Me My Remote via email. “Mostly, we get to see Remy go undercover for the first time and it’s fantastic.”

As viewers get to see a new side of Remy (Dylan McDermott), an old friend returns: Barnes (Roxy Sternberg), who started her maternity leave right before Remy joined the FTF, is back…and it’s not the easiest of transitions for her.

“That’s a story we’re going to take a few episodes to tell,” Hudgins acknowledged. “There is definitely tension as they get to know each other and adjust to the new dynamic. Barnes is a veteran of the Task Force and yet she feels like she’s almost starting over again as she has to get to know her new boss. There’s several great moments with Roxy and Dylan that I think the audience will love.” On top of that, Barnes is “struggling with work/life balance – trying to do her job while raising two kids.”

Remy, whose brother’s murder led to his career in law enforcement, will also have to face his trauma head-on later in the season. “Without spoiling anything, that will be an arc for Remy this season when he learns that his brother’s killer is up for parole,” Hudgins previewed.

As for his newfound relationship with April (Wendy Moniz), it’s continuing on, despite Moniz being tied up with another show. “Remy is still dealing with his mother’s dementia, and his relationship with April gets complicated,” Hudgins said. “Wendy is so good and I love the chemistry between her and Dylan. Their characters are still dating when the season opens, but their relationship will face some challenges that we want to approach in an unexpected way.”

And, naturally, the rest of the team will have their own troubles, too.

“Kristin has a great story where she confronts the cartel boss who tortured her, and it spins her character into a fierce new direction,” Hudgins teased. “Then there’s the Hana episode. Don’t want to give anything away but it’s an incredibly emotional story where she’s severely tested and we see her open up in a way she’s never done before. We’re really excited about that one.”
