BIG BROTHER Spoiler (Update #5)

February 21, 2008 by

So Chelsia and James got their HOH room and nominations are going to be today. For sure, Amanda and Alex are going up on the block and they are thinking of using someone else as a pawn so that if Amanda and Alex win POV, they can put Matt and Natalie up on the block. In their HOH baskets, Chelsia got wine and James got bloody mary mix. They ended up getting drunk, making out, and passing out- Chelsia in bed, James on the massage table as Natalie was giving him a massage.

All the water has turned cold, the girls are all wearing bikinis, they can’t use the washing machine and they are drinking out of bowls because of the HOH competition last night. They just had a food competition. Not completely sure what happened but Matt made sure that BB knew he was just drinking coffee. Supposedly, the competition was pretty dirty because everyone is taking showers, boiling water to use to clean up, etc.

BIG BROTHER 9 Recap: Gossip Girls (and Boys)

Big Brother Recap

Not sure of the meds that Britney has been taking over the past two weeks to calm herself down but if she could spare a few for some of the BIG BROTHER houseguests it would be awfully sweet of her. For reals, these people are off the charts crazy. Well, maybe not crazy but they sure as hell are drama queens.

You call that a fight?…
Last night the Chenbot showed us a few moments from what she was calling one of the biggest fights in BIG BROTHER history. I call foul. The screaming match that started with Chelsia and Amanda and quickly switched to Amanda and Josh really wasn’t all that great. We’ve seen worse (and by worse I mean better and more vicious).

The spat stemmed from the lethal combination of Amanda’s gossip and her annoying voice. She could be saying the Hail Mary over and over again and I’d still want to kill her based on her voice alone. Ugh. Josh almost emerged the victor in the fight by telling Amanda that everyone hated her in addition to calling her a few choice names (what we saw didn’t really scratch the surface of what he said to her – if you look you can find the whole escapade on YouTube). But any points Josh earned by ripping Amanda a new one were completely lost when he mocked her father’s suicide. Way to cross the line and look like a complete DB Josh.

AMERICAN IDOL Top 12 Girls Take the Stage…and Some Meds

Filed under American Idol, American Idol Recap

Every week Seacrest opens the show letting us all know that this year’s contestants are the best ever. If it wasn’t for his reminder, I’m not sure I would know that, especially after the performances over the past two nights. After a semi-lackluster opening night by the guys, last night it was the ladies turn, and while there were a few standout performances, overall it was a bit of a bust.

It seems that a nasty case of the flu infiltrated the ladies. It sucks and I feel for them, but they are professionals now and they just have to suck it up. I gotta tell you, that I’m not sure the flu is to blame for what we saw last night…unless of course the flu helped the girls pick out their songs.

Kristy Lee Cook American IdolThe night started off with a whimper as Kristy Lee Cook took the stage and shock of all shocks, she didn’t sing “Amazing Grace”. Who knew she had something else in her repertoire? After her unenthusiastic performance of “Rescue Me” I found myself longing for the days when she sang the religious power ballad. The best was when the camera panned to the Top 12 guys and they looked bored to tears. And she was the first contestant of the night.

Joanne Borgella American IdolThings didn’t really pick up when Joanne Borgella took the stage. She has a pleasant voice, but there wasn’t anything special about it and her lack of stage presence really did nothing to help her. The nerves were all too apparent. I feel like I have no idea what kind of artist Joanne could be. Is she a belter or old school and jazzy? I’m interested in finding out.

Alaina Whitaker American IdolThe first standout performance of the night comes from the girl that turns 17 today – Alaina Whitaker. Despite oversinging a few sections, Alaina really brought some personality into her performance. She has a real maturity with her voice and some really great control. She was clearly nervous but she did the best she could to push that aside and give it her all. The judges took note and Simon said she would sail through to the next round. Let’s hope so. Read more

My poor DVR is in for a workout tonight.  There’s so much TV on tonight and it seems to all be on at the same time.  These are nights when I cross my fingers and pray that technology doesn’t fail me.  These are also the nights when I’m happy to have not one but two DVRs. Sad, I know.

Here’s a few shows that will be on my DVR tonight, and a few that won’t, but will probably be on yours…

Survivor: Micronesia – Fans vs. Favorites | 8pm on CBS
Survivor: MicronesiaThe fans and favorites apply war paint and engage in a physical battle that requires them to tackle each other in the water to win a reward; Cirie is torn between two alliances and must decide which one to join.

American Idol | 8pm on Fox
American IdolFour contestants—two women and two men—are voted off in the season’s first results show. (Note: Stay tuned to GMMR as we’re going to be polling YOU to see who might be going home tonight.  Start thinking about it.)

Lost | 9pm on ABC
Lost Season 4“Eggtown”
Kate’s need to get information from the hostage could jeopardize her standing with both Locke and Sawyer. (Note: It’s borderline scary how excited I get on Thursday’s for new episodes of LOST. Just to add a little more about the episode description, from what I hear tonight we find out some answers to some of the questions that were raised in the S3 finale.)

Supernatural | 9pm on The CW
Supernatural“Jus in Bello”
Sam and Dean are double-crossed by Bela (Lauren Cohan), who has them arrested, but when Agent Henriksen (C. Malik Whitfield) arrives at the jail to take them, he discovers they’ve been surrounded by demons intent on killing everyone.

Eli Stone | 10pm on ABC
Eli Stone “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go”
As Eli struggles to come to terms with the end of his engagement to Taylor, his visions convince him to help a former coma patient who wants to get his life back. Meanwhile, Jordan defends an old friend in a discrimination suit.

Lipstick Jungle | 10pm on NBC
Lipstick Jungle “Chapter Three: Pink Poison”
Wendy brings her daughter to an event in an attempt to diffuse the scrutiny of her home life raised by an inflammatory book. Elsewhere, Nico puts distance between Kirby and herself, and Victory introduces Joe to the gals.

Now the all important question. What will YOU be watching?

THE OFFICE and Joshua Jackson News!

February 21, 2008 by
Filed under Grey's Anatomy, Josh Jackson, The Office

Wow, even as I was writing that title I realized that even teasing that Joshua Jackson might be on THE OFFICE is incredibly cruel. But it got your attention, didn’t it? Sadly no, my dreams of dreams won’t be coming true…Josh Jackson won’t be playing Jim Halpert’s brother (can you imagine), but there is some scoop on both of my favorite things this week courtesy of E!’s Kristin Dos Santos.

The Office LogoTHE OFFICE will thankfully be returning with new episodes on April 10th (praise Jesus) and Kristin’s sources tell her that after the long awaited “Dinner Party” episode, the storyline will indeed jump to the present time, and will acknowledge the 5 month time jump caused by the WGA strike. How will they do this? Really, are you questioning the OFFICE writers? Don’t you know better by now? Jumping time isn’t really new to the show. The documentary film crew capturing the day to day happenings of Dunder Mifflin have always taken the summer months off. Sadly, it’s why we missed Jim and Pam’s first date. I just can’t wait for my favorite show to be back. April seems so very far away.

Any theories on how THE OFFICE writers can explain the 5 month jump in time?

Joshua JacksonFrom my favorite show to one of my favorite all time TV boyfriends. It’s been confirmed that despite the strike, Josh Jackson will be guesting on GREY’S ANATOMY this season after all. There was much buzz when his mini story arc was announced last year, but the WGA strike out that and all other stories on hold. But according to Kristin, Jackson will be appearing this season (YAY) and will be a love interest for Christina (BOO). Don’t get your hopes up for Josh to join the cast as a regular though, as he’s already filming the pilot for a new J.J. Abrams sci-fi show on Fox called FRINGE.

To hear this news right from KDS herself, along with some delish scoop about tonight’s LOST, head on over to the Watch with Kristin section of E! and check out the first video on the right hand side of the page.

Where in The World is Carly Smithson?

Where was Carly Smithson

Nope we’re not looking for Carmen Sandiego this time around but rather AMERICAN IDOL Top 24 finalist Carly Smithson. As the Top 12 guys performed last night the camera panned over a few times to the Top 12 ladies who will be performing tonight. But as you can see from the pic above, Carly was no where to be found.

Where could she have been? Even if she was feeling ill, you think the producers would have made her suck it up for the sake of showing off their prize pupil on the show. I can’t imagine her no show was based on the recent controversy surrounding her participation. Surely the judges knew exactly what they were getting into there. But where was she? Hmmm.

HIMYM & Big Bang Theory Pull a Switcheroo

February 20, 2008 by
Filed under How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory

CBS will be switching things up just a bit when they bring back new episodes of their Monday night comedies THE BIG BANG THEORY and HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER on March 17th. The two shows are going to switch timeslots.  HIMYM, which was previously on at 8pm EST, will now take over The Big Bang Theory’s 8:30pm slot, while the freshman comedy takes over in HIMYM’s 8pm space.

It seems that The Big Bang Theory has pulled slightly better numbers than HIMYM and the network wants to know if it has anything to do with the time slot.

This is potentially good news for HIMYM fans who may have heard that their show had not yet been picked up for next season by CBS.  The Big Bang Theory got the nod for next season last week, and if you haven’t yet checked out that show, I highly suggest that you do…it’s fantastic.

Paula Abdul Dances Like There’s No Tomorrow

Paula Abdul is trying to stage some kind of comeback…I think. For those of you, like me, who missed the premiere of her music video for her new song “Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow” during the pre-game Superbowl show, I have it here for you to check out.

Paula looks great for her age, there’s no denying that. But come on, some of the outfits she’s wearing in the vid are just completely inappropriate. Hell, they’d be inappropriate for someone over 22 years old. And what’s up with Randy jamming on the guitar and the end cameo with the American Idol team? Seemed all a bit desperate to me. I think Paula should stick to sitting behind the Idol desk and her rambling.

Big Brother 9 Recap: Paranoia Sets In

What’s an episode of BIG BROTHER without a little yelling, cursing, and a quickie in the bathroom? Yes, there was a little bit of everything in last night’s episode. But paranoia seemed to be running a muck in the BB house. With past relationships revealed and others concocted, it seems that the houseguests are all just a bit suspicious of each other and it’s turning ugly…early.

On the block…
On Sunday we learned that Allison & Ryan and Jen & Parker were nominated for eviction. No big surprise there. Jen has made mistake after mistake since entering this house. She and Ryan could have gone the entire game without spilling their secret, but no, at the first sign of trouble she tells Parker. Then they went and told the whole house. Hello target. Has she never watched this show before?

With that foursome on the block, it was destined that dating couple Jen and Ryan would be split as one of them would have to depart from the house. Unless of course they won the coveted golden power of veto. But they were up against some stiff competition with current HOH’s Amanda & Alex trying to secure their nominations and fringe players Natalie & Matt trying to prove they were a strong team.

LIVE Blogging AMERICAN IDOL Tonight – Top 12 Guys

February 19, 2008 by
Filed under American Idol, American Idol Recap

I’m thinking it’s going to be well before the end of tonight’s 2-hour AMERICAN IDOL when I’m going to regret this whole live blogging thing, but what the hell, I’m watching anyway, right? I hope you’re watching and that you’ll add your own commentary throughout the night as the Top 12 guys take the stage and sing songs from the 60’s.

David Hernandez, American IdolDavid Hernandez is first up tonight and is taking on “Midnight Hour”. I really dig this guys’ voice. It’s so rich and thick. His nerves were apparent in his eyes but not in his voice, well at least not until the very end when he hit a few warbly notes. Overall I thought he did really well tonight. Randy and Paula were excited about his performance. Simon thought it was better than he thought it was going to be, and told David he needed to loosen up. 1-866-IDOLS-01

Chickezie EzeChickezie Eze, American IdolChikezie Eze started off rough from the very first note. He chose “I Love You More Today than Yesterday” and to be honest I didn’t even know what song it was until the chorus. I thought it was a pretty cheesy and boring performance. Something from a cover album. The judges didn’t love the performance although Paula and Randy tried to be nice. Chikezie made the fatal mistake of talking back to Simon tonight. Dude, have you not seen this show before? That’s the kiss of death. I’m officially over this guy. See ya. 1-866-IDOLS-02

[These long commercial breaks are going to get annoying as the night goes on, but for now I’m loving it since I’m eating dinner during the breaks.]

David Cook American IdolDavid Cook is one of this year’s rockers and I was kind of digging this guy through Hollywood Week. Tonight he’s taking on “Imagine Me and You” and like all the other guys tonight he starts it off a little slow before the build. I’m liking his performance but I can’t help but compare him to Chris Daughtry a bit and Daughtry was a bit more authentic right from the get go. Overall a solid performance and I’m still pulling for this guy. As for the judges, overall they liked it and Simon thought he “almost” made it believable…which is a compliment…almost. 1-866-IDOLS-03

PRISON BREAK Season Finale or Series Finale?

Prison Break Season Finale

Do you think that was it?  Was that the last we will ever see of Michael Scofield?  There are rumblings that PRISON BREAK might not make it on to Fox’s lineup next season.  But the show has not been officially canceled, and with the shortened development season due to the strike, perhaps we will see Michael and his band of merry men once more.  The question is, do we want to? After last night’s finale, I am surprising even myself by saying “yes”, I want this show back.Last night’s season finale was actually really fantastic…for a midseason cliffhanger.  For a season finale?  No.  For a series finale?  Absolutely not.  There were too many questions thrown out there and not enough answers. The questions we will get to in just a bit.

As for what went down lat night, well it was nice to see Michael getting all smarty pants again.  The boy is always one step ahead of everyone else, and when he’s on his ‘A’ game the show is at its best.  The museum transfer was smart, and while I knew that Michael picked the location for a reason, I couldn’t figure out why.  I actually thought he was going to set off some kind of laser shield between his people and Gretchen. But covering his tracks with the alarm and walking straight out made sense too.  Adding the stolen souvenir from the gift shop to Whistler’s back pocket to distract the guards was a nice touch.  That foresight of his has served him well.

THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES: “Dungeons & Dragons”

February 19, 2008 by
Filed under The Sarah Connor Chronicles

Is it possible that I loved last night’s episode of TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES without really knowing what was going on?  At times I was utterly confused about elements of the many flash forwards, but on the whole I thought the episode kicked a little ass. So many questions are raised about the development of Skynet and just what is happening in the future to what’s left of humanity.  And what’s up with Cameron?  Is she going to go all toaster on us and double cross the Connor’s?

I’ll admit that my knowledge of time travel is pretty much based on the “Back to the Future” franchise.  But I do know that if you go back in time and you alter history, then the future is impacted.  So riddle me this…if Derek came back from the future and killed Andy Goode, then how was Andy still alive during those flash forwards? Even if Derek was flash forwarding to the time before he came back to kill Andy, wouldn’t Andy still not exist because at some point in the past Derek killed him?  Holy lord I think I have a headache.  Anyway, I really didn’t understand most of that last night, so if someone could throw me a bone and explain it to me that would be nice.
