About Last Night…STARS ON MARS and CRIME SCENE KITCHEN

Let’s talk about Monday night’s TV!

STARS ON MARS: Oh man, I felt awful for Tallulah. Like, yes, maybe she should have been firm that Tom and Ariel couldn’t swap, but at the same time, TOM MISCOUNTED?? How do you miscount when you’re only counting up to 4? If they knew they had that much more to do, it would have impacted their speed. Yes, they may have still failed because they had a breakdown in supply down below with the spill, but still.

CRIME SCENE KITCHEN: Okay, the donut trickery was absolutely brilliant. But, also, come on, it very much feels like the trained bakers did NOT watch season 1. In what world would they straight-up say what you’re supposed to be baking? Even in week 1, there’s absolutely no way. (Not to mention only one team looked in the trash.)

The elimination challenge was a bit more difficult, because, yeah, the teams explored more, but only a couple found the nut allergy note. I’m not sure what to make of the frenemy team that got eliminated (I felt bad for them, and couldn’t tell how much that tension might have been a Thing if they remained), but hopefully they can feel a bit better given most of the teams dropped the ball this week.

I’m also intrigued by the quasi-meta element of the show this season. I don’t recall the producers being so actively involved during the interview portion of the episodes last year, and I’m curious if that remains beyond the introduction episodes.
