Another CHICAGO FIRE shakeup is in the works: Alberto Rosende will exit the long-running drama in the season 12 premiere, sources have confirmed to Give Me My Remote.

Rosende has played firefighter Blake Gallo on the NBC series since 2019; he also portrayed the character on ONE CHICAGO shows CHICAGO MED and CHICAGO P.D.

The news follows long-time FIRE star Kara Killmer’s upcoming exit, co-creator Derek Haas’ long-planned farewell, co-showrunner Andrea Newman’s promotion to new showrunner, and Taylor Kinney’s upcoming return.

Deadline was first to report Rosende’s exit.

Update (December 2): Rosende addressed his upcoming FIRE exit on Instagram. “When I decided to end my time with Chicago, it wasn’t easy,” he wrote on an Instastory over a screencap of a story about his departure. “The people I’ve met were truly special, the friendships I’ve made will last a lifetime and story I got to tell was one that made me proud. Can’t wait to see what else is in store and I wish everyone the best in shooting the rest of the season!”
