CHICAGO FIRE Adds Rome Flynn

WITH LOVE vet Rome Flynn has joined the upcoming 12th season of CHICAGO FIRE.

Flynn will play Jake Gibson, a former boxer who catches the attention of Firehouse 51 after a “heroic act.” The actor will first appear in episode 2, and will recur.

Flynn’s previous credits include GREY’S ANATOMY, THE ROOKIE, RAISING DION, DEAR WHITE PEOPLE, and HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER.

This marks the latest CHICAGO FIRE casting shakeup, following the upcoming exits of Kara Killmer and Alberto Rosende. Off-screen, co-creator Derek Haas left after a long-planned farewell, and then-co-showrunner Andrea Newman was promoted to showrunner. Additionally, Taylor Kinney will return after missing several months last season.

Deadline was first to report the casting.
