“Breakdown” – After a mysterious bioweapon leaves two MTA workers dead and one injured, the team rushes to determine who is behind the attack and the location of their next target. Also, Jubal’s past demons begin to surface when the high-pressure case coincides with Tyler’s latest health scare, on the CBS Original series FBI, Tuesday, Jan. 24 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+. After a roller coaster year for FBI’s Jubal (Jeremy Sisto) things had finally leveled out—until the Tuesday, January 24 episode, “Breakdown,” when he gets a call from his ex, informing him about a new possible health issue with their son.

“He’s usually somebody who’s pretty good at not letting his emotions overtake him—he usually rests heavily on the evidence,” Sisto tells Give Me My Remote. “But he is in a world where hunches can sometimes be very good things to listen to, and he knows that.”

“Unfortunately, sometimes that can cross over into his own life,” he continues. “He gets a really bad feeling that something is going awry with his son, because something comes up [with his health] that is concerning. He really goes to a very dark place, very quickly, and I think it’s because he gets caught off guard.”

Not helping matters is the case the team is tasked with handling: they’re trying to track down an MIA bioweapon.

Of course, while the agents are used to dealing with high-stakes virtually every week, bioweapons are particularly loaded for them, given Maggie’s (Missy Peregrym) serious injury—and long recovery—last year.

“I think Maggie definitely had to deal with some heavy sort of PTSD involving the particular case, and then the chemical nature of it,” Sisto allows.

Maggie and Jubal end up going toe-to-toe as he grapples with balancing the various stresses in his life, but Sisto acknowledges Jubal isn’t realizing how deep this could go for the rest of the team. “I don’t even think it hits Jubal that that’s part of the equation,” he says. “He’s got so much going on, and then, add to that, the potential destruction that this [weapon] can have; [that stress] is enough for his brain.”

FBI, Tuesdays, 8/7c, CBS
