GHOSTS’ Jessica (Nichole Sakura) said goodbye to the B&B…but there was a bit of back and forth before she came to that decision.

Initially, she and Sass (Román Zaragoza) lamented Freddie’s (Mike Lane) decision to sell the car, which would take Jessica away from the mansion. (As a refresher, Jessica is tied to the car, while Sass is tied to the B&B, so the car staying on the grounds was the only way for the newly star-crossed duo to keep exploring their newfound relationship.) But as soon as they were able to keep the car—and Jessica—from being sold, Jessica started to have second thoughts about being confined…and having less freedom than a dog.

Ultimately, Jessica left, with the car now being owned by a band…but is she really gone from the GHOSTS world?

“Oh, I would love to come back,” Sakura tells Give Me My Remote. “She’s really fun, and it would obviously be fun to come back. I didn’t have any specific talks with [the writers], but I would certainly love to come back.”

For Sakura, she does get why Jessica couldn’t stay put. “Well, I’m a Sagittarius—we are the travelers of the Zodiac,” she says with a laugh. “And with my method acting, I’m like, ‘I totally get where she’s coming from.’  I guess it’s any relationship where you [have] your non-negotiables. And I think for her, she can’t be in one place for the rest of her life; I think that that’s fair.”

“Maybe that’s a lesson that young women will get from watching the series: that you shouldn’t compromise on the things that are really important to you,” she continues. “That’s kind of a deep interpretation, perhaps, but yeah. She likes Sass, but she ultimately has to do what’s best for her.”

With Jessica back on the road, Sakura thinks the ghost is probably having a blast. “She’s an adventurous gal,” she says. “Obviously, musicians are pretty exciting people to be around. So I don’t think there’ll be any shortage of entertainment for her.”

And for the food-loving ghost, “musicians, they eat a lot of fast food,” she notes with a laugh. “So I think it’s gonna be the best of both worlds.”

With her time with the show behind her, at least for now, Sakura is grateful for the new acting opportunities she got.

“There is something fun about getting to ignore one of your scene partners entirely,” she says. “Mike who played my driver, when he was in the scenes with us, I wasn’t supposed to acknowledge him at all. And that was fun. Because in acting, you’re always having to think about your relationships with the other characters and kind of reacting to them. And obviously Jessica would be doing all those things, but just that added element of being a ghost [was] acknowledging that, for myself as an actor, oh, this is a totally different element that I’ve never played before. Being cognizant of someone who’s not cognizant of my presence, that was really fun.”

“It was just a beautiful experience,” she continues. “I got so lucky, getting to work in Canada for the first time during fall. We couldn’t have asked for a more picturesque environment. And this cast is truly—I’m not even exaggerating—one of the nicest casts I’ve ever worked with. And so it was just a real, real treat. And I’m so happy for them that they got a season 3. And hopefully they will have me back. That would be a blast.”
