The Stabler brothers are coming to LAW & ORDER: ORGANIZED CRIME—Randall (Dean Norris) on January 25 and Joe Jr. (Michael Trotter) on February 1—which could mean quite the headache for OCCB task force boss Ayanna Bell (Danielle Moné Truitt).

Bell first started working with Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) in season 1, as he was trying to figure out who killed his wife (and why) and working through his own PTSD from the experience. Since then, the duo has gotten very close, becoming genuine friends on top of their quasi-partnership (though Bell is his boss)…but they’ve also had to navigate Elliot getting a little too involved in cases.

Now, with the possibility of the Stabler family once again intersecting with the OCCB work, it could put Bell in a tight spot with her detective.

“I’m assuming at some point…there’s going to be a merging of that life—his family life and his work life,” Truitt tells Give Me My Remote in the video below. “And I’m sure him and Bell are gonna get into it about him being too involved or whatever.”

“And then he’s gonna have to apologize to her,” she adds with a laugh.”He’s gonna have to come back and be like, ‘You were right, I’m sorry.’ You know, in true Stabler fashion. I’m sure there’s gonna be some good stuff coming in the next few episodes that revolve around that situation. We’ll see how it develops.”

Truitt is also waiting to see how—or if—Bell’s own personal life comes into play in season 4. (After her wife, Denise, left Bell at the end of season 2, the duo had a custody battle over their son, Jack, in season 3.)

“I mean, I hope [to see it], because otherwise, I’m like, ‘Now, she’s not a deadbeat mom, is she?’” Truitt says with a laugh. “We don’t want her to be a deadbeat mom! So hopefully, we’ll get to see her have some time with her son or at least talk about it. Stabler in last season did a really good job of checking in on Bell and seeing how things were going with her [in her] life. I know last season she was going to court for some custody stuff, so it would be nice to see what’s come of that. So we’ll see.”

LAW & ORDER: ORGANIZED CRIME, Thursdays, 10/9c, January 18, NBC
