FBI season 6 finale preview

“Ring of Fire” – The Somalian terrorist group behind the death of Agent Hobbs resurfaces, sending the team on a chase to take them down for good, on the sixth season finale of the CBS Original series FBI, Tuesday, May 21 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs). The team gets one step closer to capturing the group that led to Hobbs’ (Roshawn Franklin) death on the Tuesday, May 21 season finale of FBI.

“For Tiffany, it means that there might be a chance for her to close this chapter and find some resolution,” Katherine Renee Kane, who plays the agent, tells Give Me My Remote. “It might be a chance for her to take action on her…bull’s eye that she had on this guy since her friend died in action. And it also is a chance for her to go at it with a lot more self-control and prove to her colleagues that she can handle it.”

In the months since Hobbs died—during an operation where Tiffany was the lead—her colleagues have been noticeably concerned about how she’s handling the fallout…including questioning whether she needed a break.

“It has been…” Kane says, taking a long pause to consider the end of the sentence, “challenging for Tiffany to go through this so publicly. She holds her cards really close to the chest a lot of the time. When it comes to her emotions, it makes me think back to when she shared with her partner, Scola, that her father had passed away and her mother passed away within the same year, and didn’t really want to share a lot of emotions about it.”

“But to have something happen, where everyone can see, and then to have everyone sort of want to treat you with kids gloves, I think to her it becomes a little bit of her trying to save her pride,” she continues. But I think that she also does believe that she has what it takes to handle this. And she believes very much in her instincts. And so she’s trying not to take it personal or to overreact, but also understand that these people are doing this because they care. And that’s something that I think is new for her to ease into.”

And Kane thinks Tiffany is in as good headspace as possible as they head into the final hour of season 6—even if the experience of Hobb’s unresolved death hasn’t entirely left her.

“It is something that has been in the back of her mind, even as a consequence of having to go to therapy to work it out,” she notes. “don’t think it’s something that she’s totally let go of, nor can she, nor should she be expected to, because her job is to find this guy. But I think one of the interesting things about this is that as [their suspect] is sort of the phantom, as episode 8 portrayed him, this elusive figure that she really needs to catch, Hobbs is kind of the ghost that was chasing her. And so I think that that’s something she’s had to work through.”

“And that’s something she’s not trying to put away, to forget about it,” she continues. “I think that’s what makes her so emotional about it and not able to really attune yourself to what’s going on with her when she needs to reel it in. But it’s something that she has to work through so that she can put that book comfortably on the shelf.”
